When uploading files to Creatures Caves, you no longer need to select a file type for images. This should improve the posting system quite a bit.
So far it has been implemented for COBs and Adoptions (though will be rolled out throughout the site shortly). The following image types are accepted:
- JPG
- JPEG
- GIF
- PNG
For zip files, only ZIP extensions are accepted.
I'm sure Grendel Man will be happy to hear that he can now upload PNG files for adoptions.
Additionally, the bug whereby people recieved Creatchi items by posting an image with an incorrect file extension has been fixed. ![[devil] [devil]](/images/smilies/devil.gif)

Awesome, Rascii! I love my .png files, so I'm excited about this feature, too.

Update: This feature has been extended to Metarooms, Breeds and Image gallery posting.
I could definitely add RAR support if people are interested in the file extension. Personally I have never used it.

How wonderful! .png files have so much better quality, in my opinion.
I once had to use RAR files. They were evil... O.e

I'm a big fan of .rar files... Only got introduced to the file format in the Creatures community! I'm OK with .zip files, though, especially since those are more universal and can be opened with many different programs.
Lily: I once thought the RAR files were evil, too, until I figured things out! The name kind of makes them sound like they're evilly roaring. Yikes... Bad pun. Ha ha!

Yup, same here. PNG is my fav format.
The RAR-part is less interesting for me, but I bet others will like it.

I mostly use RAR files because they have better compression than ZIP files. You should definitely add RAR support in my opinion. |

Maybe put (JPG, JPEG, GIF or PNG) just after the "Image:" upload section? That way, people are reminded what image types are acceptable every time they go to upload.

I have something to say about .RAR support. : D
It turns out people have been having trouble using my uploads because I'm an idiot and tend to put files into .RAR files instead of .zip files. Instead of giving me an error when I try to upload a .rar file, however, the site simply changes the extension from .rar to .zip. The files work fine on my computer as I've got .rar and .zip both opening in WinRAR but I don't think other users will find this quite so friendly. :x

I guess I'll have to add an error then to reject non-zip files. I just assumed everyone would upload zip files.
If you're referring to COBs, you should be able to edit the COB post and re-upload a proper zip file. If you're referring to other downloads then I may need to assist you.

Sadly, I'm not referring to COBs. D: I uploaded two breeds and both seem to have bad downloads. The links that I included for both files work.
