News Forum File Uploading Update    Caves Dweller Rascii    Administrator     5/1/2013  5 When uploading files to Creatures Caves, you no longer need to select a file type for images. This should improve the posting system quite a bit. So far it has been implemented for COBs and Adoptions (though will be rolled out throughout the site shortly). The following image types are accepted: - JPG - JPEG - GIF - PNG For zip files, only ZIP extensions are accepted. I'm sure Grendel Man will be happy to hear that he can now upload PNG files for adoptions. Additionally, the bug whereby people recieved Creatchi items by posting an image with an incorrect file extension has been fixed. - Rascii   TheSecond     5/1/2013 Will there eventually be RAR file support? I could definitely add RAR support if people are interested in the file extension. I'm OK with .zip files, though, especially since those are more universal and can be opened with many different programs. Lily: I once thought the RAR files were evil, too, until I figured things out! The name kind of makes them sound like they're evilly roaring. Yikes... Bad pun. Ha ha! Instead of giving me an error when I try to upload a .rar file, however, the site simply changes the extension from .rar to .zip. The files work fine on my computer as I've got .rar and .zip both opening in WinRAR but I don't think other users will find this quite so friendly. :x Updated Rehosting Policy[/title]   Caves Dweller Rascii Administrator     5/10/2013 I guess I'll have to add an error then to reject non-zip files. I just assumed everyone would upload zip files. If you're referring to COBs, you should be able to edit the COB post and re-upload a proper zip file.
