I'm trying to run a genetics experiment, but JD's eggmaker isn't loading genetic files for me. I have my test genetics in the main genetics folder- it's the one that all the genome and .gen files from egg agents end up in, right? |

For the eggmaker, you need to put your genetics in the Library > Preferences copy of the Genetics folder, just like how you install adoptions. Look at this picture.  My TCR Norns |

"s.test.c.gen" is the modified file. It's short enough for me to type it in. (I chenged the onset of stress related genes from youth to childhood, btw. Just wanted to see if there was a reason they were set to that age.) |

Okay, now the genomes are loading but the eggmaker autokills as soon as I try to make an egg. >8^\ |

The Eggnator is working for me (forgot I had it installed!), but I have to use the command line to determine the sex of the eggs for now. Unless there's some function I didn't know about. I should probably dig up the readme file. >_>; |

It looks like because you're using Exodus, you may need to experiment with the location of the .gen file so that Egg Maker can find it. On a Mac, try moving the gen file between ~/Library/Preferences/Creatures Labs/Docking Station/data/Genetics and Hard Drive/Applications/Docking Station/Contents/MacOS/data/Genetics. My TCR Norns |
