Weird error warning upon DS opening

I was testing sprites In DS, opening the game to check the quality, when I got this message:

Warning!

There is insufficient free disk space to safely run Docking Station. You need 75Mb free on your main system drive, and 32Mb on the drive where you installed the game.

Do you want to run the game anyway?
yes/no

Now, I have more then enough free space on this computer. I think I've seen this bug before, years ago, and that it was linked to something about the sprites, but I can't remember what caused it.

I double checked my saving settings and tried re-saving the sprites images and putting them in the sprite file again, to no avail.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

I've had that issue too. I usually delete a couple documents and it solves itself.

Good gravy, no! [nsurprised] I just delete old school assignments and stuff like that. I never mess with the game files!

But my computer isn't full, it has several Gb of free space, way more then the game's required few Mb... I don't think deleting a few files will make much difference? :/

I think I may have found the problem!

My copy of the game installs files in the game folder, and in another folder in the documents folder. I think I put the files in both during testing and that caused the game headaches.

Either the problem was caused by duplicate files, or my game data became corrupted; either way, reinstalling the game fixed everything. :)

Glad to hear that it's all sorted out! I think I'll try reinstalling mine after the run... Question out of curiosity, are you using the GoG Exodus?

Yeah I am, my old cd doesn't seem to want to work with my computer anymore; so i bought the games from gog.com so i could still play them. :)

I know the way they install is different since they are made to be compatible with newer systems. I get a lot of glitches from metarooms, I didn't use to have that much trouble with them; but it's not such a big price to pay to be able to play with norns again. :)

Ah, I feel ya there luv. Metarooms cause me much grief, now that I've started to try them.

I've heard that the error the OP mentioned is in fact harmless (and will go away on its own eventually - I remember testing this out a while ago and confirming it to be the case). But usually, when I get this error I just empty my recycle bin - in most cases, that makes it go away pretty quickly.

And the current subject gives me yet another reason to avoid touching Exodus with a 25 foot pole (my install comes from Creatures Trilogy for C3 and the free install for DS, and both work without complaint on my Windows 7 system).

Don't be so harsh on it Grendelman. :/ They had to make changes to make it work in a stable manner; they couldn't know it would cause bugs with third party objects... The official products never caused me any problems. :/

One more sprite sheet, some testing and i just may be done with this breed upgrade! 8D
