In a surprising turn of events (thanks to my mum), my dad did give me permission to go to the Q&A tomorrow!
But I do need a bit of help... I remember reading that "An active mIRC connection is required to attend." What is that and how do I get one? I'm still a bit new around all this tech stuff.

You can access the chat here at the CC Chat page on Creatures Caves, or download a program on your computer. If you use Windows then you can use mIRC and if you use Apple I recommend LimeChat.

Have you logged in to Chat recently? I have my username registered, but you can also sign in as a guest. You can either use the chat from that link, or download the mIRC program Here.
EDIT: And Rascii beat me to the punch! Better answer by him, anyway. Ha ha!

Gah! Registering costs twenty dollars? Yikes! So, it's not required to register and download the program onto my computer? I can just join the chat like I usually do?

Yes, you can still just login via the Creatures Caves link and be all set. That's how I've always gone about using the chat room. Awesome to know you'll be able to make it after all! See you there tomorrow!

Yes, you can join the chat using whatever program or browser tool you normally do. We've had a couple folks come into chat to ask about this there, too... I don't know why they say it's required, but it isn't necessary to have mIRC, specifically, to join our channel. If you already have some method of logging into CC Chat then you should be good to go.

Just want to point out that registering in order to use mIRC isn't compulsory, not really! Before I registered (and I only did so because it would be a worthwhile investment, running CC Chat and all...) I dragged out the free trial version for months and months and months, even when it continued to nag me. I would highly recommend anyone try it out; it's a really nice program in terms of customisation and capabilities, etc.
I'm so glad to hear that you can attend after all, Lily! Me too! We've had to come back from our trip a little earlier than expected, since my boyfriend now has to work. See you all there tomorrow! |
