I got permission to post this, since it's a technical issue.
When I try to reset my C1 world, I go and delete the World.sfc and replace it with a renamed copy of Eden.sfc, but when I go to play in my new world, I find that absolutely nothing has changed. It doesn't reset at all. (the kits also don't replenish themselves as I've been told they do. The Hatchery stocks itself, but the kits don't.)
It did the same for my little sister's, when she wanted to reset her world for Grendel breeding. In a flash of stupidity, I deleted World.sfc and forgot to replace it, so the game is all but destroyed on her computer. Just as well, it needed to be reset anyway.
How can I reset my world without breaking it? ![[ncrying] [ncrying]](/images/smilies/emot_crying.gif)

I'm assuming you have an installation from the GOG.com version? The standard setup is for it to install files in two different directories, which can make for some nightmares! Here is the process I use when creating new worlds:
1. Navigate to C: \Program Files\GOG.com\Creatures Albian Years\Creatures 1 and locate the world.sfc file. (Copying Eden.sfc and renaming it later on should also work.) Make a copy of this file.
2. Navigate to My Documents\Creatures\Creatures 1 and rename the world.sfc file. This is your current world.
3. Paste the world.sfc file from step one, and you should be all set!
I'm not 100% sure about replenishing the hatchery and kits, as I don't really use these features. One other quick tip I recommend doing is clearing out the Genetics folder in My Documents from time to time. This tends to fill up over time, and although I've never experienced issues, I feel like it reduces the chances of having slowdowns or two Norns with the same genome (very, very rare).
Hopefully this helps!

(I have signal; not sure for how long though!) The Hatchery and kits should replenish themselves when all stocks/eggs have been completely emptied. At least, that's been the case for me with GOG.com's version. |

The Hatchery replenishes just fine, but the medical kit doesn't, leaving me with a bit of a cheese shortage.

Have you ever tried the C1 Refrigerator COB? For the life of me I can't figure out where I downloaded it from. It injects a yellow refrigerator near the incubator, and this can actually be seen in some early tutorials of C1. Looks like it was something cut out at the last minute! The refrigerator can be opened by Norns/Grendels or the hand, and contains one carrot, one honeypot, and one piece of cheese. There's a little bit of a "cooldown" (horrible pun), but I can usually get a piece of cheese out of it at a pretty good rate!

I remember seeing that in a picture of C12DS! I had no idea it was in regular C1 too! Ohh, I need to get that!
