Most intelligent C2 Norns?

  2/14/2013

I am trying to breed some pretty intelligent ones using the Akamai Canny genome as that seemed to be a promising idea.

So far my best ones are:

Nicole (Female)
13 Lobes, 1339 Neurons, 6167 Dendrites

and

Zeus (Male)
13 Lobes, 1339 Neurons, 6131 Dendrites

Did anyone else try breeding very intelligent norns? Or know of any that are available for download?

And what's your opinion on the genome? Are Akamai Canny the best for C2?

A problem I still have frequently is beating to death since i usually breed with 6 norns (3 M, 3 F) at once.

Any comments and tips welcome! =)

If you want intelligent Norns, I recommend the Survivor Norns from my blog. They're still in the beta version, but I should be able to release a finished version soon.

I personally think the Akamai Cannys are a great genome, and are much better at breeding than the Nova Subterra Norns.

Ah thanks for the tip.

I already took a look at the survivors and they look very promising.

Only thing that scares me off a bit is the "Anti inbreeding" thing. If you only have 2 norns to start with it is quite hard to not have them mate with a relative. I have read on some website that inbreeding is not a problem in C2 (as opposed to real life) and so far I did pretty much nothing else to get to my intelligent norns.

Anyways, although i could only test them for a few minutes so far they do look promising.

What i would wish for a final version would be to make it less likely to hit others. I have definitely had more aggressive norns i must admit, but so far the 2 from you have been hitting each other a lot already. I mean of course its natural that kids have a fight, but ya know that in C2 these are ridiculously often ending deadly, especially if you're not watching.

Hmmm I just had my male survivor starve... =/ probably just bad luck i guess.

The tickle-to-revive feature is a neat idea, but in this case useless as he immediately fell unconscious again. I guess it was already too late for him.. Imma try again, just wanted to leave some feedback.

Hmmm my female one had the same fate after just 34 minutes... =/

They tend to repeat like "Clara extremely hungry, get food" all over but same problem as the original norns - more words than action and starve in front of a piece of cheese.

I have the genetics kit but by no means understand it. Isn't there any way to make them actually eat instead of talking about it until they starve?

Hmm, all of my Survivor Norns to seem to have had good eating habits right into their adulthood and beyond. Looks like the genome needs more work. :P

I am currently trying to get into the genetics kit. I am experimenting with an alternate "Akamai Canny" genome that I am working on. The Akamai is already pretty nice, but i wanna get rid of the fighting and get them to eat more.

For the eating I think I am pretty good with inserting a gene that rewards them if their intention is to eat and they actually do it. In the first tests I overdid it a bit, so actually they ate so much that all plants were empty. I'm currently trying to find "something in-between". I also altered the "I got hit" and "I have hit someone" genes so actually the one hitting another creature gets pain and punishment. I also reduced pain and other negative effects from being hit.

I will post news when i have tested the new genome. I am a real bloody beginner at all this, but so far it looks promising.

How were the Survivor Norns' sleeping patterns?

The sleeping patterns were okay i think.

I looked a bit more into the genetics stuff.

If you want the ticklie-to-revive thingy to also work when they are starving you can make more genes that give starch, fatty acid, triglyceride, fat, proteine and amino acid, because that is what a non-starving norn got in circulation.

I am still experimenting with the eating genes. I could not completely get rid of hitting, but i think now i made it punishing enough so norns will be very unlikely to do it after they grew up and it gets them more pain than the person hit, so they don't die from it, or at least its extremely unlikely. In my newest test i also cleaned up the brain design a bit and made some parts much larger.
