Per many users' requests, I have finally added user preferences for notifications in the settings section of My Caves. Additionally, Bibbles now have yellow/blue unread/read stars (like forum posts) and their own post count at the top menu. You may now choose to enable or disable both the number counts [e.g. (#)] and the little yellow star (next to "Welcome, User" at the top right) that appear when new updates, likes or bibbles have occurred since your last visit to those sections. Additionally, an extra option has been added for Likes. You may choose to enable likes notifications for all posts, OR only for when another use likes one of your personal posts. In other words, if you are Laura, and Malkin likes Grendel Man's forum reply, then you will not get a notification when this happens if you select "enable (my posts only)". You will only get a notification if you select "enable (all posts)". However, if you are Laura and Malkin likes your own forum reply, then you will get a notification under both the "enable (my posts only)" and "enable (all posts)" options. Just to let everyone know: The Likes: "enabled (my posts only)" option wasn't working due to a bug, so if you had that option selected, it wouldn't show a post count regardless of whether or not someone liked one of your posts. However, I have fixed it now, and it should be working properly. - Rascii |

UPDATE Due to the large amount of activity on the website lately, I found personally that the Likes notification number had become rather meaningless. It basically always says 50+ and it's not really worth the time reading through all of them. Therefore I have changed the default setting to "only my posts liked by others". So if you go to the likes feed, the only likes shown are other people liking your posts. I think this will make the feed more meaningful, and make it more clear when people 'like' something you've posted. If you still want to view all likes, you can select it from the menu at the top. Additionally, all 'likes' notification settings have been set to the default. If you want to disable likes notifications, you'll have to change the setting. Sorry for the inconvenience. - Rascii |
