Hi 0u0 I'm new to the fandom and CC. I need a few stuff explained: When is the DS server online? Can you make another world in C1? How do you use the Norn of Infertility? And this isn't real help, but still: I got Exodus and The Albian Years trough means that won't be explained. Should I have Exodus, TAY or both? |

When is the DS server online? That's random. But you can not register new accounts, you can only use it when you still have an old one. Can you make another world in C1? IDK TBH. Never played C1. Never played C1, so I don't know. In C3/DS you can beat them up, throw them around, tell each other to slap (tell em "hit norn" once they can speak), feed them hazard stuff or teach them crazy things, e.g. that toys are dangerous. How do you use the Norn of Infertility? I believe you just inject it and let it do it's work. It'll automatically check creatures for certain criterias and makes them infertile by changing the biochemistry temporarily. Where can I get the Breeds like Toxics, Banshees, etc.? Depends. The mall breeds have been split into 2 categories. The first one only contains the 2 you listed + Treehugger, Hardman and Bondi Norns. Those are officially not available. It is probably sorts-of illegal to trade with them, so you should not discuss it in the forums. It might be that you soon get a PM of someone, though. The other breeds (Siamese, Zebra, Fallow and so on) are known as Freebies. Those can be downloaded (as the name may suggest) for free and absolutely legally. I don't know the current link, though. Exodus is Creatures 3 + DS together, changed to run with newer versions. Albian Years is C1 and C2. Which ones you "should" have depends which of them you want to play. Lets play plants! When is the DS server online? As Papriko stated, it all depends. I don't play online anymore because it's so flaky. You can download the DS Offline Option, or C1toDS, in order to play offline. You've probably already found this, but I usually throw it out there whenever a question about the server pops up! Can you make another world in C1? Yes indeed! Do you know if you have a split installation, where some files are in your My Documents folder and others are on the C drive? The GOG.com versions of the Creatures games default to this, which is more of a pain than a true issue. You'll want to rename your current world.sfc file, and then copy the original World.sfc (dated 1997) or Eden.sfc (rename to world.sfc). Place this copy in the directory where your active world file was loaded from, and you should have a brand new world! How do you use the Norn of Infertility? I've never used this: Sorry! Papriko's advice sounds correct, though. I got Exodus and The Albian Years trough means that won't be explained. Should I have Exodus, TAY or both? If you want legitimate copies of all Creatures games, I highly recommend checking out GOG.com for The Albian Years and Exodus. The prices are reasonable, and I've never had any issues with these. I guess I don't really understand your question, if you say that you know what each game contains and that you like both. Any way you could elaborate? Thanks! |

Many people have their own blogs, which can be customized and updated whenever. I highly recommend setting one up in order to document your games! You can also post on the Creatures Caves boards, though it all depends on what you're posting about. There are some wolfing run topics in the General section, which might be one place to start. Thanks again. ONE last question. How do I use the Genetics Kit for C1? Are the C2 and C3/DS the same? How do I import and export Norns in all the games? And the Super Speech Toy crashes the game when I inject it in C1. And BORG doesn't work. |

There should be a help file included with the genetics kit - you load a genome into it (either one of the mum1 or dad1 genomes, gren.gen or a norn already in your world) and you will see some screens like this. In the screen with all the genes and the descriptions, you can click on a gene, then click at the bottom 'edit gene' and see the details of that gene and edit it. When you're done editing, go to export, and that should give you options for injecting the norn into Albia. (Though you may need the Remastered Patch for The Albian Years.) All 3 Genetics Kits are distinct, as the genome changed a lot over the years. My TCR Norns |
