Has anyone else had the problem where the DS death script fails to pick up a certain creature, but is working fine otherwise? It's no big deal, because I can just kill hots the body, but I'd like to figure out why. |

I always thought it was because you needed to throw the camera over the body a certain way and there's really no room to do it in the Meso (or any other vanilla DS room, for that matter) 99% of the time. No idea if this holds water, though.

It was in the C3 terrariums. Eventually some of the bodies disappeared but one of them just stayed there until I killed it. |

Eh. Guess the Sparkle Reaper forgets one every so often.

I made a small script which keeps terminating dead bodies. Most of the time I don't want to clone or keep corpses anyways. With that I don't have such problems.
Also useful in wolfing runs.

I should probably mention that I often play with dead bodies (cloning them, splicing, posing, making them walk around and make different facial expressions) and sometimes I remove and reinject the death script to facilitate this, so I wonder if it could have been in the middle of doing its thing when removed. |

That could be. Scripts occasionally leave behind that kind of traces when they get aborted right in the middle.
For that purpose was INST initially meant for. To make sure the essential and/or extremely sensitive scripts do not suffer from such.

Yes, that's why the Yautja Death Update comes with a warning, in case there are any dead bodies lying around... because in my experience, if you remove/reinject the script while a dead body is present, that particular body usually won't go away.

Strange, that's never happened if I remember correctly, but that was the only thing I'd use kill hots for... hmmmmm... |
