I've been trying to get back into DS lately but I only have time to play it at very short intervals. I have downloaded a few cool metarooms like biodome, but I don't really have the time or patience to set them up properly.
Anyone have some suggestions for the best agent packs to make a room "livable"? i.e. toys, food, etc.
I don't really want to take the time to inject individual agents. I know, I sound really lazy, but as a student and a person who works, I really just want to get things up and running as quickly as possible. I couldn't even figure out the garden box after toying with it for at least a few minutes.

I like to put plants everywhere. (Vendors are a bit iffy because the creatures can't actually make the connection between pushing and getting food.) Apart from the garden box, you can look for potted plants. As for toys I normally just use the ones from the Norn Packs and sometimes a robot toy. Balls are crappy if the room has a pond - they roll in and the creatures follow them to their deaths. |

Regarding potted plants is the NornGarden collection pretty nice. It offers several plants of which the most can grow freely, too.
Technically the pots are single agents, but you just need 1-2 pots of each kind to populate a room.
There is a whole lot of critters as well.
DS Bramboo and some C3 plants (if you have) can be grown in other rooms, too.

I recommend pinching a few things from the Norn Terrarium if you have C3, the only downfall is that some of the life-forms, such as the grass seeds, are difficult to find and often end up dying out eventually if placed in other rooms. |

The best thing, as far as 'bam, bam, bam, there's your food, fruit and seeds, now go stuff yourselves silly' is the Garden Box. Where are you getting stuck with it?

Basically I just couldn't get it to show anything or inject anything. I know that I'm just using it wrong, so I probably just need to sit down and really spent some time going through the tutorials. Lately I just have the attention span of a puppy.

Yeah, it sucks when that happens, Rascii. You also need to have the auxillary agents in your My Agents folder, but I'm sure you've already got those.
Is this on your room-mate's computer (PC), with the GOG version? If you've got the GOG version:
Go to My Documents and find your "Creatures" folder - in it there should be a "Docking Station" folder, and in the DS folder, there should be a "Catalogue" folder.
Copy all the catalogues into C Program Files (x86)\Gameware Development\Creatures Exodus\Docking Station\Catalogue.
