For some reason in DS whenever I lay an egg using Muco and wait for it to hatch, I am given this error message:
Runtime error in agent 3 4 1 (Norn egg) script 3 4 1 9 unique id 3761
SharedGallery: oCreateGallery
The following sprite gallery was not found:
C Users\Daniel\Documents\Creatures\Docking Station\Overlay Data\over_a44b.c16
... ewc 4 targ 1 ov01 0 {@}accg game "c3_creature_accg" b ...
Windows NT/2000 6.1 build 7600 ()
OriginalDisplay DirectX (netbabel 148)
Wed Nov 14 18:57:31 2012 - Daniel - 2.296 b195
Can someone please tell me what's wrong and how I can fix it? The game is pretty much unplayable if I can't hatch any Creatures! |

Ouch.
over_a44b.c16 is the name of an overlay file... the kind of file that is used to put clothing on a Creature. Specifically, that's the name of the overlay file that contains the Halo helmet. ![[nscared] [nscared]](/images/smilies/emot_scared.gif)
The script it's taking issue with is the Norn egg timer script (that makes the egg hatch). But I have no idea why it's looking for the overlay file... the line it indicates comes right after the line where it creates the new baby creature. The specific line in question determines the Norn's ACCG (acceleration due to gravity), so needless to say it doesn't relate to clothing either.
So my suggestions are:
A) Make sure any sprite files with names that start in "over_" are in, or at least have duplicates in, the Docking Station\Overlay Data folder. You do have to put them there manually; Docking Station by default doesn't differentiate, so it shoves them all in the Images folder. This may help it sort out whatever it thinks it should be doing.
B) If the above doesn't help, take the Halo helmet out of your Agents folder, move the sprite files starting with "over_" to a non-DS folder so the game can't find any of them, start a brand new world, and see what happens then.
C) If you're running a special version of the game (like Creatures Exodus) or on a problematic OS (like Windows Vista), consider the possibility that that may be part of what's going on. Vista tends to hide files, Exodus can be kinda iffy about where they are injected.
If we really can't figure this out, I'll remove the helmet from BBW. I don't want this thing screwing up peoples' games, if that's what it's going to do.

If it is the helmet it may simply be assuming that clothes are a permanent and in that case is looking for a blank sprite. If that's the case see what sprite # it uses, and if it's consistent and permanent, just put a blank one there, nothing really wrong with it. If it's the result of any clothing item like that it could just be a limitation of the system, in which case the above would be a standard workaround.
I'm a member of the Simcity 4 community and one example is the use of starter pieces to override networks to make new ones. The NAM mod which does this needs to be the only distributed controller file, since the game can only load one controller file. Here, it could be mistaking clothing as a permanent object. I don't see how it relates though...

Yeah, that's not how it works, Wiimeiser. It's a completely different kind of "mod".

I managed to solve the problem by moving the files in the "images folder" that began with "over_" to the overlay folder, and the game works perfectly now. Thanks for your help, Ghosthande. |

Oh, great. I'm glad it was such an easy solution.
