This is more of a rant than anything else. I'm so frustrated right now I could cry. I know how ridiculous that sounds, but it's just one of those days. The majority of my bootstrap and catalogue files got all screwed up somehow. When I try to create a new world I keep getting "invalid map position" error messages. I have done everything I can think of. I've managed to repair this problem in the past, but this time it seems hopeless. I uninstalled and reinstalled with no success. The worst part of all this is that I haven't been able to try any of the new CCSF stuff  I just uninstalled everything again--really everything this time. I'm going to reinstall Exodus and if it doesn't work I might very well lose my mind. I was able to make and run a docked world, but all of my old undocked worlds are unusable and I can't successfully make a new one. Should I maybe install DS and then just the C3 portion of Exodus? When you uninstalled, did you go in and delete anything that remained in your Creatures/Docking Station folders? Particularly your bootstrap? A lot of uninstallers won't remove files that they didn't install, and so, if there is a problem .cos file in your bootstrap folder, it may not be removed! Just be aware that you could be deleting your worlds and rooms when doing this... |

I think that may have been the issue. I'm not 100% sure though. I don't even care at this point about losing all my worlds. It's going to be a pain in the butt to re-add ALL of my agents and their corresponding files, (made copies of everything) so I'm trying to look at the bright side of starting from scratch... I feel some of your pain, Jagotka! Although my C3/DS game is still working, it's been acting weird for months. I've already made a list of all of the agents, .cos files, and other add-ons I'm going to need after a clean install. I'm delaying this as long as possible, though, because I can just see the nightmare ahead. Ha ha! Hopefully things are going well for you, though! At least you've got a bunch of new CCSF agents and whatnot to keep you busy, if it's taking too long to reinstall everything else! |
