| Terra Nornia on GoG-Installed C1 | |

I picked up all the Creatures packs when GoG put them on sale for Halloween, and I've been tooling around with them since--it's great to have them again (since upgrading to 7 I wasn't able to get my old copies to work.)
However, I can't seem to get Terra Nornia to run on Creatures 1. After install, it still loads regular old Albia. I've even moved Albia's .sfc file to a completely different folder than C1, and have burrows named world.sfc, but it keeps loading Albia as if it can somehow read its sfc no matter where on the hard drive it is.
Anyone know a way to fix that? The only thread I found on the matter was from 2007 and was never actually resolved. |

Since the GoG version isn't psychic, my guess is that it's still reading a file that you just happened to miss.
If you're using one of the newer versions of Windows, such as Vista, check your C:/Users/[your account]/AppData/Local/VirtualStore directory and make sure it didn't save a copy there. With User Account Control turned on, it tends to save copes of modified files there instead of rewriting the originals in Program Files like you would expect.

I gave that folder a check, but unfortunately it didn't have any sfc info in it. I cleared it out just in case but loading C1 had regular old Albia still. |

I think Ghosthande is on the right track: I know that with my C1 game from GOG.com, files have been installed both under My Documents and the C: drive. If it helps any, the world.sfc file in My Documents is the world that is loaded when starting up the game.
Have you downloaded it from this page? If memory serves me correctly, and if your version was set up the same, all of the images and sounds should be placed in the C: directory, while the new world.sfc should be placed in the My Documents directory.
Hopefully you'll have everything working soon!

Awesome! Glad it helped! It took me awhile to figure out what was going on where with the two directories. Part of me wants to reinstall and get everything in one place... But I'm so used to it now. Ha ha! Enjoy playing with Terra Nornia!
