| injecting a .gen as an egg? | |

I am running Creatures 3/Docking station, and woke up one morning to find all my feral run creatures dead of disease. As I was on the 18th generation of Norns with some pretty cool mutations, I didn't want to just end the run there an call it over. I recorded the monkiers of the longest lived creatures in the world (according to the crypt) and hunted down their .gen files, hoping to find a way to continue my feral run.
Is there any way to turn the genetics of these creatures back into... well, creatures? I tried using the genetics kit, but the genetics kit likes to 'correct' their mutations, which bothers me. I also tried Devthing, but I'll admit that was way too advanced for me. Even if I did know what I was doing with the mom/dad genetics and mutation chance boxes, it gives me errors when I try to inject the egg.
So in short: Is there any way for me to inject these .gen files into a world as eggs? |

I personally like the Egg Maker - however, to use it, you'll need to copy the genomes, rename them each something short (feral1.gen, feral2.gen, etc. and then move them into the Genetics folder that Muco uses. I believe Devthing has a similar functionality - it's for Windows, so I can't use it myself - and I think Clucky's Eggernator may also work.

Thank you, eggernator worked great! I had actually tried to use it before, but couldn't find it anywhere. I had assumed it didn't exist anymore, like so many other great agents. |

Cool, I'm glad it worked for you! Clucky gave us permission to host his stuff when his website went down, so you might like to browse the COBs section for more of his stuff. The COB Detectives thread is also a good thread to read to find obscure agents and to ask about lost agents, though SeeYou7.Net probably has the most comprehensive list.
