Can anyone help get me back to playing it? I have downloaded DS but it has no server.cfg I was/am DS standalone and basically it's coming up with the error that iot can't read the partial file splash file. Will happily reinstall/redownloaded Running Windows 7 This was my favourite ga Also, well done everyone on here. It's so nice to have a Creatures site which is active after going through lots of 'Page Not Found' and inactive sites. I was Kor....in case anyone remembers lol Thanks! |

Is it trying to update the file? You'll need to run it as admin, and use engine.exe, not installblast.exe. At the moment, the server is down, so you'll need to get the DS Offline Option from here to make new worlds. My TCR Norns |

Make sure that your version of Docking Station is build 195, as that seems to be the most recent build.  If you have a valid username and password you can still create new worlds. (Made a new one just now to test it) It seems I can't send and receive norns though, perhaps because noone else is online? Yeah, the warp seems to be down, but registering worlds still works. I suppose the registration part of the server and the actual Warp are separate. At least this means you can still play without having to use offline mode, so your world is ready for the warp when it gets back.  The Community Scribble: make (y)our own metaroom! |

If it's just the server.cfg you're missing, you can download one at http://www.winterblades.org/server.cfg. I've uploaded it there after browsing around here on this board. My old server.cfg didn't work, but this one has let me go online many times, and I've both chatted and used the warp with it. It's been a lifesaver. and it's easy to download - just put it in your Docking Station main directory. |
