I don't see why it wouldn't be allowed! If you're unsure about anything regarding the forum rules in the future, it might be best to private message me or another staff member with your question. But even if, the official profile on Minecraft.net only contains nickname, your custom player skin with which you show up ingame and your email address. And the email address is even obfuscated when you are logged in and look at your OWN profile. For Minecraft I use the same address as here on CCaves. It only shows up as g***********@y****.de. So really, IPs are the only thing which are exchanged. You have the server IP and the server maintainer has your IP. That's it. Lets play plants! Photosynthesis... Photosynthesis...
