I was wondering about installing Gaia on C3 or DS. I first tried to install it in a docked world but the game crashed. So, I used C3 stand-alone without loading DS and it worked okay but then when I tried to start the game again it would crash with an error message that said something about "Default Geat Speak." The only way I could play C3 or DS again was to delete the world that had Gaia in it and move Gaia to the My Documents folder so that it wouldn't be in the game.
So, in short the only way I've been able to use Gaia is once, and then it has to be deleted before using the game again. Anyone have any kind of idea on how to fix this?
Also, when using Gaia are there some interesting things you can try in a world? It seems interesting the way she is able to add things to the world. I also notice her mood affects how she puts things in the world. What are some things you have noticed that make the game more interesting? |

When norns speak before they are taught langugage, they use certain words. Grendels use other words, as do Ettins. Gaia does not have any pre-language Bibble in the game, so that's why she crashes. Try the Bibblish for Geats download.

If you have the Exodus version of C3/DS, go to Your Documents/Creatures/Docking Station/Catalogue and copy the entire contents of that folder to your C Program Files\Gameware Development\Creatures Exodus\Docking Station\Catalogue. Inject Gaia into your world and she should now work properly.
Hope this helps! |

Speaking from experience I'm not too sure if the GOG.com version unpacks catalogues at all...

Sorry it took me so long to post how it went.
I added the "Bibblish for Geats" and now I am able to add Gaia to a C3 stand-alone world and not have the game crash in either C3 or DS when I try to go back to the programs later.
However, Gaia still will not work in a Docked world, even when the world is docked with the starship. However, I'm thinking it's intended to only work with C3.
I wasn't sure whether or not to try putting "gaius," Gaia's counterpart in DS or not, as I didn't want to risk another crash.
It has been interesting to try playing C3 stand-alone again after all these years of playing docked worlds, and it's interesting noting the subtle differences between the two.
So, does anyone have any tips on making the most out of using Gaia in a world and some interesting things that can be tried?
So far I have tried moving her to different locations, but I'm still learning what all she can do in a world. |
