You'll need a program like WinRAR in order to open .zip files. You can download it from here, just choose the type of operating system you're using. |

Basic .zips can be handled by windows, I believe XP or newer. WinRAR isn't bad but it is shareware, which means after 60 days you'll start getting notices asking you to pay for it but still allowing you to use it. 7zip on the other hand is completely free and gives you the same functionality as WinRAR without the added messages. As for opening the actual files either double click the compressed file and it should open a window with things in it and you can just drag & drop them where they need to go, or you can go right click>extract and it'll place a copy of all the files in the archive in the folder you are currently in. I believe both programs are also on mac & linux platforms. |
