Hey, all, it's been a long time. I've been wanting to get back into Creatures and breed creation, but I no longer have a computer that can handle the Creatures games. Pretty soon I'll be getting Windows 7, but I don't know which version (there are versions, right?). Which games are compatible with W7? And if anyone happens to know...what about with Mac 10.6.8? |

According to the Kutoka site, their copy of Exodus is compatible with Mac 10.6, but your computer will need to be very old in order to have the PowerPC support needed in order to run Exodus.

I have the Creatures Trilogy version of Creatures 3 and the free download version of Docking Station installed onto my 64-bit Windows 7 laptop, and they both work perfectly fine for me.
The GoG version of the Albian Years also works on Windows 7. I don't know about Exodus, as I'm not touching it with a 10-foot pole if I don't have to.

All versions of C3 should work with windows 7. I know the original stand alone does as does the GoG version.
The biggest problem I always have is remembering to set my color settings down to 16-bit so I can play them in windowed mode. |

Thanks all for replying, but what is GoG? And different versions of c3, what do you mean? It's been a while since I've played or read about the games. I only have one c3 disc. |

The GoG (Good old Games) series of Creatures games have been specifically designed to work on newer operating systems, and the only versions of Creatures 3 I know of are the original standalone version and the Exodus version. If you only have one disk then you must have the standalone version. |

You can see a fuller rundown on the History page on the Creatures Wiki, but the GoG version is the version of Creatures Exodus sold by GoG.com. Creatures Exodus was a recompilation of C3 and DS released in around 2005 which was designed for Windows XP, but has some issues with having two identical directories for the game.

You can buy and download the GOG.com versions from here. Others have testified that they run on Windows 7. |

Great, thanks for the links. I'll get The Albian Years from Gog.com once I get Windows 7. |

I definitely recommend GOG's versions. You may want to keep an eye out for sales in the mean time... when their Creatures games go on sale they tend to be around $3 each.
