I tried to open Docking Station and was promptly greeted with this:
"CSE0001: Caught C-style structured exception at 0x004733FC
EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION
The thread attempted to read from or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access.
Attempt was to read from address 0x00000000

This isn't the first time I've encountered this issue - uninstalling and reinstalling the game fixes it usually. However, having to do that is very, very annoying. Has anyone else run into this issue, and is there any way to get around it without having to re-install the game?

Are you using Windows 7 or Vista?
This post on Albia 2000 is saying that it may be related to a corrupted or missing file from your Creatures directory.
I believe I've also seen "EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION" attributed to Windows Security interfering with the program by blocking access to a needed file. If this is the case, you could try editing the security functions of the User Account Control manually to prevent any Docking Station related files from being blocked, or just disable the User Account Control while playing.
You could also check Windows Task Manager after receiving an error to see if any Docking Station-related processes are being left over. If so, ending the process may fix the issue temporarily.
If that doesn't help, I'm afraid I'm not sure what else to try.

Well, first off I'm using Vista with UAC permanently turned off (it's more trouble than it's worth on Vista). When the error pops up, it just goes straight to the message in the OP without telling me a file got screwed up or anything. I'm also sure that it's not due to leftover processes (otherwise, restarting the computer probably would have helped).
However, it does seem to happen just after I've tested a major edit in C3 beforehand (last time I saw it was during Past Seas development. This time, it happened after I tested a script that allowed creatures to eat gadgets).

I usuly got that kind of window when a breed mess up - usuly sprite wise, very rarely with att files (such as the C2 pixies - also the C2 grendels did that to me randomly too-until I made that arm fix)
But I do belive it may be some agents capable of doing so as well (don't had any who caused that window error) but who knows?
I do hope you will be able to jot down what cause this prob for you O.o'
I surely hate this error window too,as they usuly point out everything else but the prob itself -_-' |
