Neat blog, Jagotka!
Google won't let me post a comment on the blog, so I'll just have to post here instead.
I wouldn't worry about the "copyright" stuff so much. Generally if someone says not to use their sprites, they just mean don't upload their sprites for download, or create new sprites based on theirs (eg. by taking their sprites and drawing over them/changing colors).
Getting angry or trying to stop someone from creating a genetic breed that uses their sprites would be silly, because people would still have to download their breed to get those sprites anyways. Creating genetic breeds that use third-party sprites is already common practice and well-accepted. Redistributing breeds or breed sprites is about the only thing you could do that would ruffle feathers in the CC.
And getting upset over something someone made for their game that they aren't redistributing, would be flat out ridiculous, regardless of whose sprites it used or what have you. You don't need to worry about displaying photos with other peoples' breeds in them either--I've seen a few people like this in, say, the Sims community, but never for Creatures. If something like that ever did happen (although I can't imagine it would), the community would support you, because it would be obvious that the other person was being unreasonable.
Most people in the CC are generous folks--we don't go copyright-crazy and we won't turn rabid if we see our things in your game (I can't think of a single player who wouldn't enjoy seeing their stuff in other players' worlds). After all, none of us own Creatures, and we're down to earth enough to recognize how dumb it would be if we started getting all intense over game screenshots and the like.

You could always link back to their website (but not hotlink), if you want to tell people where you got the breeds and agents you're playing with from.
Congratulations on starting up your new blog!

Very interesting blog! I wouldn't be worried about posting screenshots either, especially if you are not actually hosting any of the sprites or genetic breeds up for download as of yet. I can't image anyone being remarkably upset about it. Even if they were, they may just request that you remove the screenshot, which can be done very easily.
Anyways, a very interesting start! I am looking forward to seeing some of your genetic breeds

Hurray! Great to see you have your blog up and running! Listing the original creator should work: I think the main thing developers want (and deserve) is credit for the original. It definitely doesn't look like you're trying to steal any creations, though, so I think you should be OK!
There is a disclaimer for general Creatures images that Creature Labs requests for in-game screenshots as part of the license agreement. I can dig up the link if that helps! Not that it's a big deal... That's about the only thing that comes to mind when I hear copyrights and whatnot.
Good luck! I can't wait to read some more!
