How would you go about measuring monogamy in a population of norns?
Thus far my idea is to have a run of 16 norns, 8 male 8 female, with the autonamer on, and export all their babies, until the original 16 die. Parentage of the exported babies could be recorded later.
Not sure where to go from here - it's been a while since I experimented like this.
Any ideas?

I've noticed my CFE norns will tend to ignore strange norns when looking for a mate, so in one world where I was doing a longer version of the IQ test* norns who moved on to greener pastures later in their lives had far fewer children.
*I dropped norns off at the splicing pods on the ark, and had the terrariums set up so that the farther they traveled the more hospitable their new home was. |

Microsoft excel is a key method to my madness when playing Creatures. I have Exodus but run undocked worlds 95% of the time. I set up my worlds depending on the type of study/scenario/experiment that I have planned (which usually gets tweaked/ completely redone thanks to a little thing called ADHD). I have dozens of folders with exported norns, genetic breeds and creatures files and it can get very overwhelming and stressful trying to focus my ideas, so the past few months I have been categorizing my non feral/wolfling populations as either "purebreds" or "hybrids" with various subcategories. (I also have an entire area devoted to IQ test results...lol) Alright, back to the topic of conversation....
I really don't know how to explain exactly how I systematically record every birth (as well as experiment results and other aspects) of a population, so here is an example of how I use Excel as a census tool:
