hey there, just wanted some opinions from fellow C3/DS players. my norns have a rather unfortunate habit of clustering together and breeding nonstop, something that's always bothered me despite the size of the particular metaroom the packs "move" to.
i have a couple "stage select" areas, with multiple C1-style teleporters to go from place to place, but...no one uses them, ever! meanwhile, i'm stuck with dozens of new eggs every hour or so.
also, for some reason, the only elevator my creatures will touch is the one in the Norn Meso...so the breeding clusters remain an issue. i think teleporters are the way to go in the case of my packs. i had to teleport everyone away from Devil's Reef because, well...breeding party in the cabin [no psychoactives or fertility enhancers involved] o_O
i'm currently raising Deep, Golden Desert, and Sabertooth norns, the former two constantly breeding like rabbits and crowding one another [but not doing anything about it, lol]. is that just in their genetics? should i stick to Sabertooth and/or bring back the Akatoras, and export the Deeps/GDs/mutts for a while? [i have a metric crapton of them from the last two days alone, if anyone has a need for new mixed-breed stock, btw]
back to the original idea [so that i can avoid saying goodbye to my current norns indefinitely]: how the heck do you recommend getting norns to actually -use- teleporters [classified as 'teleporter' and not 'portal']? any agents with a different classification, or possibly a neurochemical reward response for using them? or, am i stuck transporting them manually? the latter is a bit of a drag for me, as i tend to play vidyagames while glancing over at my laptop periodically [pseudo-feral runs, i suppose].
any personal experiences are quite welcome. cheers |

Most post-Chichi breeds have instincts to push portal when crowded, and a stimulus associated with the DS portals which effectively removes crowdedness. AFAIK, teleporters give no stimuli, and most norns have no instinct to push them.

If your Deep Norns are breeding too much, one thing you can do is stick the elders (fully finned) underwater. Being underwater knocks out their desire to mate, so you can keep those naughty norns from adding to the problem.

You might like to try the torii - it's classed as a 'door' and feels like such to norns.
