Help with Slink's D-DNA Analys

Hi,
After many years and thanks to GOG games I'm back playing Creatures! I decided to give Creatures 2 a try and inspired by Discover Albia, decided to try and look at my Norns d-dna. Wow... I downloaded Slink's d-dna analyser but the help file isn't working so I have no directions and no idea what I'm looking at or how to expect it to work. Is there some place I can access the help file as a word doc or something? Thanks!

Welcome back to playing Creatures! The D-DNA Analyzer is amazing, but very in-depth! I never found any help files myself while using it. There is a text file associated with it, which basically only includes the version updates. Here it is in its entirety:

Slink's Digital-DNA Analyzer for 32-bit Windows

V2.2 - Now lists organs correctly including duplicates up to 9. No
provisions made for more than 9 so will probably crash.

V2.1 - Chemical List for C2 completed. Most C2 functionality now in.

V2.0 - Made some diplays more readable, corrected miscount in
comparisions where differences were being counted twice, corrected
mislabelled age stages.

Beta V1.3 - added missing CTRL-T acceleration for toggle of details.

Beta V1.2 - no bugs known at this time

This program will produce a report of all the genes in a GEN file.
It will compare two GEN files.
It will compare a GEN file to the GEN files of the parents if those
files are in the same sub-directory with the original GEN files.
Details can be toggled on and off except for the comparision portions
of the report, which will always be detailed.
Screen contents can be dumped to a text file for printing.

I highly recommend using the D-DNA Analyzer in tandem with the Genetics Kit: The first helps in showing the differences in genes so you can locate specific mutations, while the latter includes more genetic information. I also highly recommend taking a look at The Creatures Developer Resource which includes lots of genetic information. Most is geared towards C1, but it can still be applied to C2.

I'm also planning on creating more genetic tutorials at Discover Albia, specifically utilizing the D-DNA Analyzer and Genetics Kit. If you have any specific questions about genes, though, feel free to ask! The genetics side of Creatures can be a bit daunting at first, but I've grown to really enjoy studying them and keeping an eye out for interesting mutations.

Good luck!

There used to be a help file - Wikipedia suggests maybe a .hlp file might be it? You used to get a window that looked like this, I vaguely recall? :(

I might be confusing it with Bobcob... :(
