She only has a female voice because the target audience of the show is young girls. EDIT: I bet they thought the unstraight eyes would make children be scared at night or something ridiculous, but as a male teenager I don't really care about the show. |

the thing is that like two people in the fandom got all mad when she was portrayed as "dumb", obviously glossing over lets see, ed, billy, patrick, goofy, and more, the lovable dumb classic characters. it really wasnt that big of a deal but a few people complained so much that hasbro changed it. :/ in the spring you gotta let the flowers fully blossom |

Gumbo made a good point up there regarding this... ed, especially. he was incredibly derpy, yet recieved no opposition as far as I know. I wonder if the fandom is getting too much sway with the producers of the show - if they're altering things too much for fan service and neglecting to make their own creative choices? I don't think that Ditzy Doo would have been such a terrible name for Derpy, if the producers wanted to make her a more prominent character. My TCR Norns |
