Edit: It appears that I can run both Windows XP and Ubuntu on the same machine. Please lock this topic.
Because my stupid Windows XP laptop won't boot up, I've considered installing Ubuntu instead. However, will the Creatures series work on Ubuntu? Also, will I need to download new drivers for Ubuntu to run properly on my laptop?

Don't lock it, though! I'd pretty much like to know if anyone managed to run Creatures Exodus and The Albian Years on Ubuntu so that I won't have to use Windows 7 anymore.
Thanks.

Well after I locked the topic I went and did some research anyway and it appears you can run Creatures using a program called 'Wine' or something like that. |

I can't seem to make Exodus work on wine (already tried several times). Docking station works on its own and Creatures 1 seems to work as well though. :-/

You say C1 works well? How? I tried it too and... well, the main world worked but all the applets (including the hatchery) refused to do anything.
