So, I've got GoG Creatures 2. After deciding to come back and play the game (after being a lil addicted to Minecraft), I've had a feeling game runs quite smoothly on machine with Windows 7. However, there are two problems.
While Genetics Kit does work and I am able to open and save genome, and edit gen file, I can't import egg to the game itself. When I try to do so by clicking Lay egg on Export tab, I get an error message: Error reading registry key -- ensure Creatures is installed on this system.
I don't know what could this be, however I predict GoG Creatures have somewhat different code to help with compatibility issue.
Now let's move to second problem. While most of my exp. files work fine and Norns are definitely in good condition upon importing them into Creatures 2, it happened that 2-3 Norns act very weird. I imported them, and they appeared to be dead. Normally this happened to me but they were snoring and I could wake them up by simply slapping or make them fall from air using pickup function which is available in Blueberry4$ cheat. But this time, they don't even snore and I can't wake 'em up. I've tried reimporting, but doesn't work. Checked Science kit, it says all Norns are 100% healthy, so obviously this can't be a problem. My friend Keisuki said it might be something with poses and gaits, but before I exported these little guys they were ok. Actually, I do remember they were, like, sleeping, but how it could lead to this?
EDIT: I tried with 'wake up' and it worked.
I'm a hardcore christian first, and a creature breeder second.

If you get BoBCob it has an option to 'inject test norn'. You can go to the Genetics folder and overwrite 'test.gen' with the genome you want to test. Then inject the norn, and enjoy!
By the way, I don't care if anyone steals my ideas for their own work, as long as you don't try to stop me from making my own stuff. Many ideas I mention are things I don't have the time or skill to actually do. |
