On Day 2 of the Creatures Community Spirit Festival, AquaShee has released the alpha of the Scribble Metaroom, which has been in development since December 2010!
The prologue of Jessica's epic tale, "The Tolthian Creature Tales Book One: A World Divided" makes its debut as well - for anyone who's a fan of Jessica's norn tales at Discover Albia, this is a real treat!
Luna is a DS adoption of Officer 1BDI's, who gengineered her in tribute to a special, shy, C1 norn.
Fan is a baby norn of mine, who was born as I was playing Azumizai's Breeding Challenge.

Hurray for the Scribble Metaroom! I'm definitely going to be checking it out: It's so neat to see how so many people's drawings came together in a big way! Great work, AquaShee!
The adoptable Norns are adorable! A C1 Norn in C3/DS? What else could I do but call him cute? Ha ha! Fan is also awesome, being the sixth generation. Great contributions!
Aww, the prologue to my story! Totally going to write that story... I might even get around to the first chapter by the end of the CCSF. Feel free to use it as inspiration: Stories about Creatures have always been wonderful. It's interesting to see how others can think up different lives for Norns, Grendels, and Ettins. Thanks for including it, and for the kind words!

Just wanted to pop in to let everyone know that the CCSF stuff looks amazing and I'm dying here, unable to play it. My games are MIA and I'm on a Mac without a CD drive. Either of those alone is an easy fix but both is demoralizing. I'm working around that as we speak and looking forward to trying it all out soon! |

Hope you have things sorted out soon, Saviorthree! The games are available from GOG.com, but I believe they only work in a Windows environment. Granted, they work with Windows Vista and Windows 7, but that doesn't help out with a Mac! I actually use Parallels on a Mac: Kind of an expensive solution, but thank goodness I needed it for some work projects! Enjoy the CCSF, and again, good luck with playing Creatures again soon!

Yaaaay it's Luna.
Jessica, I want to take every norn breed from your prologue and turn it into something tangible for the games. @_@ Awesome premise, and I hope you write more!
I haven't had time to check out the alpha of the new metaroom yet (and I still feel like a heel for not contributing anything to it), but from the screenshot it looks wonderfully put together and I can't wait to dive into it.
You have to be honest with yourself when you are writing. If that leads to somewhere unexpected then perhaps you really needed to go there.

Thanks so much, Officer-1BDI! I actually had some ideas to maybe create the breeds myself one day... We'll see how that turns out! Might need to enlist the talent of the community, including yourself! I will certainly continue writing more: It's a little bit of a dark premise in some ways, but what story ever got anywhere without conflict? Thanks for the comments!

Awww, I was so hoping your tale would be your NaNo entry, Jessica! XD
Here are some more CCSF entries that didn't make the first draft of the news post:
Pirate-Rob has made an altered mushroom .cos file in preparation for his Grendel Jungle Competition later this week.
Amaikokonut has also released a couple of goodies! The first is a very useful catalogue tester, which will check if your Windows version of Creatures Exodus is installing catalogue files as it should, and the second is the quirkily-named Protective Hub. This is a strange and amusing autonamer, one which you've certainly seen if you watch Live Nornish Action.
Speaking of Live Nornish Action, it will be kept running with special previews of CCSF releases, so keep your eyes peeled!

Yay, this day is my favourite day so far, teehee. Luna seems to fit in perfectly in the Scribble Room. That makes me happy, since I'm always worried the scribble art might collide with the original creatures art, but it seems to work well!

I was shocked to see Luna in the Scribble Room preview, but also really pleased. She doesn't exactly have the most pleasant existence in the story I pulled her from, so it was really nice to see her... happy in someone else's world (even though she's probably running in terror from Fan in that shot ).
But the room really does look great. I'm surprised by how well the different sketches mesh together. You did an excellent job putting it all together, Aquashee.

That hub room could replace the Universal Hub in COC, I think. It certainly looks a lot better and I think the whole COC could be redone in that style if a few members were willing to work together...
