hi everyone.
Back in the time, i was a huge creatures fan but moved to other things. However, i am, from time to time, subject to nostalgia and re-instal creatures3 periodically for some good old wolfing runs. The last time it happened, i managed to bypass the incompatibility of the original .exe with my OS using a virtual machine. it was working fine. however, it required a lot of resources.
Nostalgia recently came back and i decided to use the gog.com reedition to avoid the resources issue. everything is working as intented but not the official norn breeds installers. i got all the official pack excluding the banshee grendel one. the installers throw me an error message saying that it can't find C3 and/or DS. these are in version 1.4 beta. i tried to change the location of my C3/DS folders to where they were supposed to be when those installers were created, tried different compatibility mode and various combination of those two last solution but nothing worked.
there is only two solution to my problem: either find a way to make those .exe work, either instal those breed manualy, using files extracted by somone else. |

Have you installed the Creatures Remastered Patch? This updates the remastered Creatures titles, which are the ones from GOG.com, so that they can support third-party installers and add-ons. I personally have not tested it in full, but I believe this may be the solution to your problem.
Good luck, and I hope everything is working for you soon!

i just tried and it doesn't work. the C3 error message desapear but ehte DS one remain and nothing is instaled
edit: i found out that with this fix, when i ask to the instaler to instal for C3 only, it work. i backed up the agent file it created. as explained on the CC tchat, they contain everything required. |

Yeeah I had the same problem-- Win7/64bit? That's the only setup I've ever had that problem with anyway, kinda weird.
But just installing them to C3 only worked fine for me though-- DS -should- take both folders into account as long as it realizes C3 is installed. If nothing else you should be able to just root around in the C3/My agents folder to find the files and move them to your DS/my agents folder.
That was my experience, at least.

Good to know this fix! I have Windows 7, although I'm not certain if it's 64bit. Still, if this problem pops up, I'll know it's not just me. Thanks!
