Has anyone here used it before and can explain how to use it? It's a tool for Creatures 1 that allows you to either clone or mate norns then import the result into the game, but the download itself didn't came with instructions and therefore I do not know how to use it. It doesn't seem that you can type, drag and drop or open anything in it.

The tool itself is available here, just scroll down until you see the "Creatures GenMan" hyperlink. |

If I recall correctly, CGM opens up with two lists of monikers, taken from your program. Keep Creatures running while you use CGM. You use the genetics kit to discover your target norns' monikers, and then you select the mum and dad in the lists CGM provides. then there should be a button to push which lets you inject an egg into the world. Could you take some screenshots? They might be able to help my memory.

I've first tried it with Creatures running, but it provides no list.

Thank you - it is as I remember it. Perhaps CGM is looking in the wrong folder for the monikers? What does the question mark button do?

That could be, I'll go fiddle around some more. As for the question mark button, it does absolutely nothing for me. |

also another easier way to know the moniker of the creatures you have - is by select the norn -> science kit and theres a tab with a animated DNA string and some info ,among it,is the moniker name, wich is the genom file that should be listed in Genman.
I remember I used it a few times,
but not too much - as it crashed often. I think genetic kit is more safer , as it is capable to do the same thing (splice two creatures by load one genom, then enter a moniker in the area where you unchek virgin birth then lay the egg..
the ? is probably for random,no?
It been a while I used it as well ^^' |

I've got it to work now after unzipping it into the genetics folder instead. Thanks for the help and suggestions. |

My bad. Spoke too soon. It lists the monikers now, but when I attempt to inject it gives an error.

While I've failed to get around the error, I've found another tool that allows you to preform the same function, and more.
