Been stalking for a while, but this is my first post.
I have been playing the GOG version of Creatures 2 for a few weeks and have suddenly run into a problem where all the norns that I hatch that are not from the hatchery are being born with <Unclassified> instead of gonads. It's happened across 3 different save files to unrelated parents of all the basic norn breeds and I have been using the canny genome since I started.
Up until about 3 days ago this problem wasn't happening - I even had some 4th generation eggs, but now every egg I hatch has uteri instead of gonads and I don't know how to fix it.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled keeping the save files and tried new worlds without cobs, but can't fix it.
The game has thrown a few other odd things at me, like giving purebred Hebe norns grendel arms and frog norns with grendel bodies, but I don't know if that's relevant or not. |

the first thing can't I help with, all I can say is the win XP released creatures games (and also the GOG ones,as theyre based on them, only they work now for vista too) do have some bugs here and there compared to the original old copies of the games.
I been noticing many various bugs myself by just comparing to the originals >-<'
So I guess thats a thing that can't be helped : (
Hopefuly your'e creatures is probably not effected by it?
Also for the random bodyparts - thats a breeding mutation. When breeding creatures long enough
(or simply it can also happen in generationearly as in gen2 - but most likely in C3-DS) you get some mutations like that (it's when the breed slot gets scrambled in the apperance genom) so it's nothing wrong,it's normal. see it as a evolution ;P

I don't think <Unclassified> is a problem. You found those in infant norns, yes? The <Unclassified> organs and marked as being <Unclassified> until they are active. When they are active, the name will change to gonads. It happens to me, too. Unless they can't breed, I don't think it's much of a problem. As for the changes in body parts, Norngirl's right! Consider yourself lucky! I will try tens of generations trying to get the mutations you've got! Perhaps you could put some norns up for download? *puppydog eyes*

I will gladly put some norns up for download if you tell me where to send them.
I haven't actually raised these bubs to adolescent, so I will see what happens.
With the grendel body parts, the cDNA still says they are type H, so I wasn't sure if it was a real mutation or a glitch. Pity I couldn't get the frog norn to breed before she popped back. |

You can upload norns here, at Creatures Caves, or upload them at The Creature Repository. TCR automates some of the process for you, so you might find that easier.

You were right Izzy, they did mature into the right organs and have been fertile. What a relief.
And my mutated norn is now available for download on creatures caves. Beth is on the first page. Makes me feel kinda special. |
