Is anyone else going to see/excited by the release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince on the 15th July?
This film is rumoured to be the best Potter movie yet, and I think it will live up to expectations. I really hope so, as it's one of my favourite books in the series! |

Yeah, I got the book last month and finished it about 1-2 weeks ago. I am really excited how they made some thinngs in the movie.
And I also want to know what they took this time out. They take always something out. Ok else, the movies would become too long, but I am still no fan of all that shortening.

Oh my gosh I can't wait to see it! I really love the books and hope that they actually kept true to the story it this one. It annoys me when things get taken out because it loses a lot of the story. And the fact that they continually change directors so the visual feel is different in each one bothers me. Still, I have high hopes for #6!

I will be seeing this Harry Potter movie at midnight if I can.
Sad to say I usually go to these movies either alone or with my parents, not too many Potter fans where I live (they think it's the work of the devil) but I'm still hoping to have a great time with this movie?
Anyone else seen the video of Ron under the influence of love potion by Romilda? Or the one where Harry goes "I am the chosen one" and Hermione gives him a well deserved smack? XD

I'm excited to see it after the previews and everything. I just hope they don't change the story too much. They always change little things or take some things out. Well, I know they have a time frame, but still...
(Like in the first movie, I think they forgot to make his eyes bright emerald green.)
Anyway, I'm sure I'll enjoy it just the same. I still enjoy the books more though. Sometimes you just can't beat a good book. XD

I totally agree with you SpringRain, it's great when you're immersed in a book. I remember when I first read The Prisoner of Azkaban three hours flew by and I didn't even realise!
I'm really anticipating those romantic scenes with Ron. If the spoiler's anything to go by, they're going to be hilarious and Rupert Grint will pull it off well I imagine! The ending is going to be sad though, as we all know... Although I can't wait to see Alan Rickman in that scene - he makes the Harry Potter movies.
I'm so going to sit in the auditorium wearing my 'Severely Snaped' t-shirt! My boyfriend will probably be sitting several rows behind, cringing from embarrassment, but he'll just have to live with it. |

Is this a good time to mention I've not read past Order of the Phoenix? I'm just a little hesitant to read on, given that SNAPE KILLS DUMBLEDORE. I like that each of the films have had different 'feels' to them as Harry's grown up - the tone of the series changes, and so too does the look of the film. Each of the directors have had their particular strengths and trademarks which add to the tone of the films they've done.
It must be hard smooshing a book down into a movie, lots of stuff gets taken out. I think most movies that aren't books beforehand put me in mind of short stories, but then maybe I'm watching the wrong movies.

Ah, without giving too much away, I think you should brave book six Malkin. Steel your wits, gather your courage and read it, because even though Snape kills Dumbledore, it's not all bad... Which is why you should read HP 7 too, in order to find that out. This last instalment in particular is bittersweet - does anyone else who's read it agree?
I watched the HP 5 movie last night, after having a vague memory of watching it in 2007, and I was quite disappointed. I know it's a house brick of a book, but the movie cut so much out, it felt like a whistlestop tour of the story.
Still, I'm looking forward to HP 6! Martin and I have our cinema tickets for Thursday!
