Alan Rickman, Alan Rickman and Alan Rickman. ... I have a thing about accents/voices and research to find the "perfect voice" has indicated that Mr. Rickman's is one of the best. Plus, his portrayal of Professor Snape in the Harry Potter films is immensely attractive! I can happily endure watching them just for him and That... That... HAIR?! voice.
Why is it every time I come into one of these "Favorite Actor" threads the only names that immediately jump to mind are voice actors'? :p
Lessee.... I'll second the Alan Rickman and Johnny Depp mentions. And I'm slowly but surely becoming a big Robert Downey Jr. fan. Oh, and Neil Patrick Harris (Dr. Horrible!). And Jason Bateman (Michael!). And Gary Oldman (...everything! <3 ).
I don't think I'm actually attracted to any of them; I just really enjoy their performances.
ETA: How could I forget the greatest of them all- Stephen Colbert.
You have to be honest with yourself when you are writing. If that leads to somewhere unexpected then perhaps you really needed to go there.

David Dorfman who's my favorite is actually the kid who plays Aiden keller in the Ring and the Ring 2. He's my age and has grown up to be quite a cutie.
I don't really think of Colbert as an actor. Pundit/personality. But not actor. I've seen a few Strangers with Candy episodes and just don't get that show and wasn't particularly impressed by his role.

Actually, I agree; I almost didn't list him for similar reasons. Really, I just wanted an excuse to post that GIF.

I've been in love with Christan Bale ever since seeing The Machinest. He takes Method Acting to a scary extreme, he's pretty messed up. Brilliant though. And Jonathan Rhy Meyers who was in Velvet Goldmine with him. Much more than a pretty face, you all HAVE to see Gormenghast some time.
I've really been getting into Jim Carrey and Jack Nance of late too.
And I'm sure Laura will back me up here: Richard O'Brien - ANYTHING that man does is gold.

Hmmm.. I'd say Christian Bale, Catherine-Zeta Jones (when she actually did have an active career) and Anthony Hopkins.
I sound soo American, but really.. Have you seen the contrast in Christian's characters? The Machinist, he drops so much weight he looks like a living skeleton, American Psycho.. Speechless. He was creepy, he was different, he was brilliant. Oh, and of course - The new Batmans are something else. Also, there is averages like The Prestige and so on.
Anthony Hopkins - Who can't forget Hannibal? Or Silence of the Lambs? Or the recent Fracture? He is such a talented man! Good luck with retirement, though..
Aand Catherine is just a phenominal woman.. Plus she passes as Spanish/Hispanic SO well when she's far from it.
I might just throw in Alan Rickman because I love his acting.. (Who can forget Dogma or his lovely Snape character? )
-Karias; a bit fruity and gone bananas in the wrong climate!
DG is right, Richard O'Brien is fabulous. The Crystal Maze, Rocky Horror... Need I say more?
Karias. have you seen Alan Rickman in Robin Hood Prince of Thieves? Great acting in that one. 'Locksley, I'm going to cut your heart out with a spoon!'
