Back in the Caption thread, the topic started shifting to this, so I decided to start a new thread for discussion on Bullfrog's games.
I have:
Dungeon Keeper
Dungeon Keeper 2
Populous: The Beginning
Of these, I've been playing Dungeon Keeper 2 the most these days, but Populous is my favorite.
Since I've been playing DK 2 the most, I'll start the topic talking about it first.
Most of the time, I'm in the My Pet Dungeon levels, seeing as there's no time limit, no threat of attack, and you can do basically whatever. However, I also occasionally do the Skirmish levels, and I'm also trying to play through the Campaign.
My favorite DK 2 creature has to be the Salamander. One time, I had 27+ of them in one dungeon.
So, fellow DK 2 fans, any easter eggs/levels/etc. you wish to talk about?

Same here, man. I love the Salamanders!
I've played through the campaign twice now, and I'm fooling around in some of the levels, trying my luck on some things and just destroying others. I find the My Pet Dungeons fun when I'm just trying to build up endless Salamander armies, but other than that I don't really find much joy in the slaughter of heroic foes which I can conjure up anytime, rather than being taken by surprise. >_>
My favorite level has to be Level 18: The Brotherhood of Cherryblossom. You have all the rooms, unlimited time, an optional hero fortress to raid, and plentiful resources to simply be as conniving as I want. I also enjoy reaping in Level 15: Storming Fluttershine and Level 11: Carnage at Sparklydell.
I want to ask, though: does anyone know if there are secrets that can make Level Nine (Silverstream) easier? Twenty minutes to take over guard posts and build tons of traps isn't a lot of time to do such a job. It usually takes me several tries before I get a victory. Are there any secret rooms or specials there?

The only Bullfrog game I've tried is Theme Park World, which drives me nuts because it's so buggy XD |

Dreamnorn: I don't think there's any special rooms besides the Guard Posts, but there are specials to be found if you dig around. If you're having issues with the Lord running for his life, try hitting him with lightning and dropping some Bile Demons near him.
I can't really say what my favorite of the Campaign levels is. Probably Level 12 (Goldenglade), because you can get skeletons and raise vampires and kill the enemy keeper with them, which is very fun, or level 14 (Peachtree), because you get to use Horny to kill the Lord.
Currently, I'm playing the Skirmish levels. Those are really fun, especially when you possess a level 8 salamander and lead a charge of creatures into an enemy dungeon. I love to slay those enemy imps!
And, I have another question: Has anyone managed to get Patch 1.7 to work? When I try, Dungeon Keeper 2 won't run.

GrendelMan: I had a feeling you'd say that. Bile Demons take a long time to get back up, though. XP
And yes: I have Patch 1.7, and it's operational. What kind of computer do you run DK2 on? I run it on the one I use, which is a newer Windows model.
I want to ask, though: has anyone managed to get the Chicken Spell? I can't find one of the hidden realms to earn it. >_> I played "Imp Invasion", "The Maze", "Golf", and "Duckshoot", but I can't find where the last hidden realm for it is. XD

DK 3 got cancelled, which is a shame. Considering how fun the first two were.... And yes, Bullfrog died.
Anyway, I'm trying to run the patch on my laptop, which is a Vista. DK 2 will work fine on it without the patch, but it won't start up with it, for some reason.
I've gotten the chicken spell, but that was because I cheated. I don't know where it is if you don't decide to use the cheats.
I've also tried to play those hidden levels, but I epic fail at them.... Especially the Golf one.

@ GrendelMan: I fail at them all EXCEPT the Imp Invasion one. It's a load of fun, smashing enemy imps with a salamander. x3
It's a real shame that Bullfrog went down, but their members went off to new game companies, says Wikipedia:
The Bullfrog Wikipedia Article wrote: Molyneux left Bullfrog in August 1997 to found Lionhead Studios whilst other members of the original team founded Mucky Foot Productions. The last titles to bear the Bullfrog logo were published in 2001. 2004 met the final end of Bullfrog when Electronic Arts combined their side studios into EA UK.
