The US economy is ruined, and seems to drag Europe and Asia with it. Anyone worried?
I believe people worry too much. Europe has a much more efficient economy these years than America, and has no reason for total panic as is currently the case.
So what's your opinion?

keeping in mind that not only Europeans visit this board...
I, for one, do live in the US. I don't poke my nose into economics nearly enough as i should. But people are right to worry. Costs are rising and people are getting laid off and its pretty much officially a recession. The situation's not sunny.
Yes, I'm the forum ... Any questions?

There's been quite a lot in the British press recently related to (not sunny)Economic issues.
To be honest I take what the press is printing with a pinch of cynicism, I'm a bit too vigilant towards the fact that lots of papers have a political edge and will print stories to try and instill their beliefs in you to make you behave a certain way.
It was the BBC picking up on the Northern Rock business (which has gotten so regurgitated and messy I've given up following it anyway)and calling it a "crisis" which caused people to go running to the bank and remove all their shares and investments, which made the crisis and further propelled NR's problems, which caused people to go and take their investments out of the bank, which further propelled their problems etc.
There's a bit of worry about the housing market here, as there is in the US if I'm right to believe. I have no idea what's going on with US house prices at the moment though. All I know is that here in Britain, they just keep getting higher and higher and higher. |
