anyone find it fascinating? i've seen so many documentaries on bigfoot, the lockness monster and champ, the chupacabra, ect. wouldn't it be cool if they actually found a REAL norn of some sort? |

Yeah, i believe there still exist many species we haven't found yet.(and maybe its better to them that we haven't )
Even if there are no norns, maybe we can someday create one. ;P theyre starting to make experiments with human embryos and try and mix them to other species. Weird, and some might say unethical, but i think its interesting. |

So I took a conservation biology class last semester. And the one thing I learned is that our earth had WAY cooler creatures than lock ness monsters or bigfoot or anything else.
like, just check out this page: http://www.kokogiak.com/megafauna/
or google megafauna extinction.
It's so amazing.

I agree with Beth, sure they sound cool and all, but there are so much more cooler animals out there.
Not really active around these parts anymore. |

You know what's cool? Honey bees.
I'm serious. Do you know of any insects who have a queen, fly around collecting pollen from flowers (to create really cool, non-degrading food for various uses), and mostly house themselves with little rooms made of a wax they make themselves? Not only that, but they have really weird reproductive parts- a bee's "sting" is a worker bee's modified ovipositor. When a female bee stings, or whenever a male drone mates, they die. Horribly. That's only the tip of the iceberg. Bees are AWESOME! |

I love cryptozoology. ^^ My favorite cryptid is the Loch Ness monster and Jersey Devil.
I think it'd be amazing if they did that, too. A scientific breakthrough!

Yeah, cryptozoology is fascinating! The only with it is that the more likely a creature is to exist, the more boring it is. Mongolian Death Worm or undiscovered, differently-coloured newt? The newt's more likely to be found, but sooo much more boring.
Now, (naked) molerats... There's an interesting species - they were a sort of 'cryptid' themselves, when the existence of a eusocial mammal was theorised before they were even discovered! The only eusocial mammal... Fascinating.
But I'd still like to see a Mongolian Death Worm. |

So would I. But you can't beat platypuses or pygmy marmosets. They're just awesome.

I saw a wolverine recently when I was in Stockholm. They aren't nearly as impressive as their X-Men counterpart.

Personally I'd love to know what in the world the animal was that the Egyptian god Set (Setesh, Sutekh, Set) was portrayed to look like. According to historians, it is either made up or extinct.
