Help Forum Creatures 2 on Windows Vista.    hogsy        1/13/2008 I will not rest untill I figure out how to get this game to work on windows vista! So far I have tried some compatibility modes but it always will say: An error was detected during startup. Creatures 2 may not function correctly. Please restart your machine and try again (and again and again). and then when I click ok on that it will say: faild to update system registry. please try using regedit (So I did and I thought now what?). So if someone has found some way please tell!! I have vista home premium. Boo.   hogsy     1/13/2008 Okay at the moment I have just tryed it like this : compatibility : 2000 RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR? YES .......... BANG! Big black screen then it will say creatures 2 is not responding :-( Boo.   Don     1/13/2008 The Compatibility mode you should use for the game, on the launcher file on having no compatibility on the creatures2 file, is Windows 98. Allright I was trying to run it in compatibility mode for NT (was best for Xp apparently) And Admin rights (also best) It came up No REGEDIT stuff or anythin then a black screen comes up and then it will say small furry creatures not responding. I have one, and I've tried everything...everything but a dual-boot with XP. That may be the only hope. Creatures 3 and Docking Station do work on Vista, however.   angel51431     1/14/2008 like i said. Creatures Albian years will allow Creat 1 to work on Vista however C1 will not work a regedit error as well. I have just ordered C2 from ebay to see if it will take over using a different platform to separate the games and solve the regedit issue, we'll see.   Wup   4/13/2009 Get a Windows 98 OS installer disk (legally, illegally, doesn't matter, just get one) and stick that on Virtual Machine. ps. I haven't played Monster Raannnrrrnnchhdoggy   Geek Ettin eprillios     7/5/2009 I recommend Microsoft virtual pc 2007 , because windows 98 works the best on it. EDIT: I like VirtualBox more now. Download Virtual PC 2007 like lembamjunior suggested. Then, follow this link!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PbGeOwuIrbg It not only explains how to get Windows 95 on your virtual pc but includes the file to do it in the information. Also, turn hardware virtualization off in settings and it should run just fine. That's how I got Creatures 1 working on Vista for myself!!
