I think I've found a new obsession. Last night, I visited Nightlyre.com (the link goes directly to the Yarn People page.) to see if she updated yet (she did), and stumbled upon her Yarn People page. This morning I got my trustly pile of red yarn and got to work. I now have two people, a mermaid, a dog, and this beauty:

Yep, that's a dragon. I used 20' instead of ten and shoved a small pompom into his head for a cool eye effect. No wings yet, but when I find the pipe cleaners I'll post pictures of him finished.

I took the image and resized it - it was stretching the page, that's all.
What a neat idea. That's something I wouldn't mind trying out myself. Nice looking dragon, I'm curious to see how you'll do the wings. |

Yeah, me too. My mom's out shopping, and I asked her to get me some black yarn and pipe cleaners, so I may have a black dragon as well in a few hours.

Oh, awesome! It looks so pretty... how long did it take you to make it?

A half hour to figure out how to do it, and it only took about five when I tried a baby one. Here's a picture:

Of course, the wings will be a challenge at first, but I think I think I'll get the hang of it.
EDIT: Alright, he's finished. His wings turned out great, and he's atop my laptop monitor currently. I'm too tired to take a picture now; It's 11:37 PM here. G'night, all.

I used to really be into making pipe cleaner and bead critters, and that's pretty similar. I'd show you my dinosaur I once made, but the dog mangled it pretty bad and it's missing pieces and all out of shape now. |

I've never made yarn critters before. What a nifty idea! I'm done making lanyards, so this can be the start of a new hobby. *runs to the garage to see what yarn she has*
