I wrote this story not too long ago, and it has been pre-completed for your enjoyment. I just fell in love with the main character in this story and her best friend. ((Did you know that there is a referance to this story in part six of "Henry the Chichi's Noble Quest"?))
This story takes place in the C1 Albia, a long time ago. The main character was based after one of my very favorite C1 Norns, Peaches. I hope you enjoy this story, and thank you for reading.
Chapter One: Just another Day
?Come on, you can make it!? Peaches whispered to a fat, yellow caterpillar. She and her friend, Tandy, were watching it climb up a flower stalk. Peaches quietly giggled at remembering that sometimes they dangled off the leaves like yellow pieces of tinsel. She focused back on the caterpillar. It was almost there!
?Do you think he?ll make it to the top?? Tandy asked Peaches. Her big brown eyes searched Peaches?s for an honest opinion from her best friend.
Peaches pondered for a moment. Then she chuckled ?Yes!? as the caterpillar sat triumphantly on top of the flower. Peaches and Tandy squealed in delight and started dancing around the flowery field. ?Oops!? Peaches squeaked at tripping over a small stone. Bowling Tandy over, the two Norns tumbled down the small hill.
Peaches recovered at the bottom of the hill, dizzy from rolling down. Tandy, on the other hand, was lying on the ground and giggling nonstop. By the time Tandy had got her breath, Tandy?s mom called ?It?s time to come in, sweetheart!?
?Oops,? giggled Tandy, ?I forgot that I was supposed to come in early today. See you later, Peaches!? Tandy picked herself off the ground and skipped over to where her mother was waiting by the front door of her cottage. Peaches waved goodbye to her best friend.
Just at that moment, Peaches heard her father shout, ?Come on in, Peaches. It?s time for you to do your daily lesson.?
?Aw, man!? Peaches mumbled as she hauled herself up. Then she started trotting after her father.
These days were Peaches?s favorite days: when she?d play with Tandy for a few hours in the morning, playing catch or watching caterpillars crawl up a flower stalk. The sun in the gardens always seemed mild and a gentle breeze came from the far away sea. The leaves had a forest-like dark green color, reminding Peaches of a glorious summer-time ahead of her. Peaches smiled. This was already turning out to be a perfect day.
***
Peaches passed the fork in the road which separated her house from Tandy?s in a few minutes. Her father opened the door of their cabin, and Peaches stepped inside. Light streamed in through the windows, and her mother was tending to a cooking pot. In the center was a table, and in the corner was a large patch of carpet where Peaches would often play alone.
?Come.? Her father nudged Peaches into another room, where a large computer sat at the far corner. Peaches sat in her usual seat: a small, soft rug warmed by the light from the window. ?Peaches, can you tell me what a Baobob is?? Her father asked.
Peaches pondered patiently for a moment, and then replied, ?A Baobob is a type of poisonous weed that grows outside of the Albian Gardens. It can cause someone to fall very ill when it gets eaten, maybe even kill that person.?
Her father beamed proudly. ?Very good, Peaches.? He sat for a moment and then asked, ?How about you tell me where the best place to find morning glory is and what it is used for.?
Again, Peaches sat thinking. With a blank, confused, facial expression, she said, ?I?m not very sure, dad.?
Her father was a very patient Norn, so he gently explained, ?Morning glory is a wonderful herb to relieve pain, and is grown in huge clumps by the abandoned temple.? Peaches nodded, making her dad grin. ?You must know this one: who was Arbedershei (pronounced our-bead-er-shjay) and where was his home??
Peaches didn?t need to think for this one. She knew this fact since she was no more than 3 months old! ?Arbedershei was the founder of the Albian Gardens, and he was king of the Golden City, in the heart of the Albian Empire."
?Excellent work,? her father praised. Peaches sat up taller when he continued, ?you get a little smarter every day.? He helped Peaches up and said, ?Now let?s hurry! Dinner is almost ready.?
Peaches ran into the kitchen and sat at the circular table. In front of her place was her favorite meal: stewed carrots, potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, and onion in a lemon juice mixture. It was smothered in delicious cheddar cheese. Peaches quickly finished the meal and checked the time. It was exactly five o?clock. Peaches yawned and gratefully said ?Thank you for cooking a wonderful meal, mom. I?ll just be going to the bedroom to hit the hay.?
Instead of everyone in Peaches?s household having their own private bedroom, there was one big one. Peaches had her own bed in the corner while in the center there was a big bed for her mother and father. She crawled under the soft covers and recalled what had happened that day. You know, she suddenly thought. I have a very good life, and if I could relive it, I wouldn?t change a thing. Eventually, sleep overtook the drowsy Peaches. Little did she know that these precious moments would ever come to an end.

Aw, shucks. Thanks, guys!
Chapter Two: Beyond the Gardens
Time flew by, as time will do, and one day Peaches woke up to find that she was twelve years old. She wandered into the kitchen where her mother and father were waiting. A large birthday cake smothered in frosting was in the middle of the table. Surrounding the cake was a number of presents her parents bought her. Peaches positively beamed with delight as her parents shouted “Happy birthday, Peaches!”
Peaches sat at the table and opened her presents. She happily accepted all three gifts: a bubble wand from her mother, a set of walkie-talkies from her father, and a beautiful new necklace from them both. Peaches hugged and kissed her parents with merriment.
The cake was delightful. Peaches helped herself to three large slices of delicious apple cake. After finishing the third piece, Peaches stifled a burp and said, “That cake was delicious! Thanks for baking it, mom!” Peaches jumped off of the chair and decided to head outside. Happily, she opened the front door. She sniffed at the fresh air, filled with the leafy scents of the Albian Gardens. Maybe I should go and see Tandy and play a board or card game.
Peaches nodded to herself as if she had made up her mind. She padded along slowly through the patches of flowerbed and vegetables, careful not to step on anything. Peaches headed along past the lemon vines that bordered the Gardens and the gate that blocked the Albian Gardens from the world beyond. Suddenly, her footsteps stopped. A thought had unexpectedly come to mind. What is outside the Albian Gardens? Peaches scurried back to the gate and peaked through the bars. Outside was a leaf-strewn path that headed to someplace in the shadows.
“Oh, man, how I want to go there!” she thought aloud. Peaches was now absolutely dying to find out what was hidden beyond the Gardens. Forgetting about wanting to head to Tandy’s house, Peaches sped home. Her brown fur waved in the wind and her blonde hair flowed in the air like a river’s current. Her tail streamed out behind her as she dodged the vegetable gardens.
Breathless, Peaches burst into her cabin. Her father, startled, murmured, “Why, Peaches, you’re home early today!”
For a moment, Peaches was still winded from her run. Then she panted, “I need… to look… in my… collection!” Without waiting for a reply, Peaches burst into the big bedroom. She dug through a drawer and felt for her collector’s box. “Yes!” Peaches exclaimed as she brought out a large cardboard box. She opened it and dug inside.
Collecting was Peaches's hobby. On boring days, when nothing was really going on, she gathered anything she found on the ground that seemed reasonably useless: bent paperclips, metal wires, old keys, etc. And now Peaches was going to put her collection to use. She searched inside for anything that might work as a lock pick or a key to the outside world. Peaches grinned when she found a real-and-true lock pick from her collector’s box.
Once again, Peaches started running. She burst past her dad and swung the door open before he could scold Peaches for running in the house. Peaches scrambled through a cabbage patch that blocked her house from the gate. With cabbage leaves between her toes, Peaches halted by the gate. She took out her lock pick and fiddled with the lock. With a satisfying ‘click,’ Peaches undid it.
An ear-splitting shriek rang through the whole of the Albian Gardens. Peaches clapped her hands to her ears at the horrible noise. By the time the noise stopped, the gate was wide open, showing a pathway hidden in the leafy plants. Peaches’s smile faded from her face. She loved the sheltered innocence of the Albian Gardens, but she wanted to explore the broad and infinite horizons of Albia.
Peaches cautiously started padding forward. The plants all grew wild out there; everything was so unkempt that Peaches was utterly shocked. She raced past a Baobob, remembering it was poisonous. Peaches took in a deep breath. Smells of unfamiliar herbs and weeds mixed with the recognizable scents of grass and leaf litter. Another lemon vine grew around an old gardener’s shed. The ragged shack looked as if it hadn’t been used for years. Peaches gulped. Maybe this wasn’t a good idea after all.
Starting to get worried, Peaches again and again thought of going back. But her feet didn’t agree with her. They just kept right on marching on the stony pathway. The strange trees left the whole place almost entirely consumed in darkness. Peaches decided that she might never come here again unless something that happens in the next five seconds changes her mind.
“Whoa!” Peaches shouted as she tripped over a knobby root. She fell into a large pile of leaves. Peaches examined herself. There was a cut on her big toe that really hurt. Then she smelled something familiar. Peaches looked around. A few paw steps in front of her was a large blue flower with yellow spots. She took a leaf off of the plant and placed in on her big toe. In a few moments, it didn’t hurt at all!
“Morning glory: wonderful to relieve pain,” Peaches recited. If this is morning glory, Peaches reasoned, then that means I must be near the abandoned temple. But by now, Peaches had enough of the outside world for one day. She carefully stepped past the root that had tripped her and started to race back to the gate.
Fortunately, the gate was still wide open. She ran back onto the dirt path that marked the beginning of the Albian Gardens. Peaches violently closed the gate and ran straight for home.
***
That night, Peaches heard the peaceful sounds of her parents snoring. Her mind buzzed with all that had happened that day: exiting the Albian Gardens, walking past the old shed, tripping over the twisted root, using the morning glory, and rushing home. Peaches vowed that she wouldn’t ever exit the Gardens again as long as she lived.
Even though she promised herself that she’d never ever leave the Albian Gardens, now that she’d seen some of the outside world, Peaches felt compelled to see more. Then Peaches sat up in bed. I’m going to go outside again. Come what may! I’m going beyond the Gardens tomorrow. Peaches mentally promised herself. Moments later, Peaches fell into a deep slumber, dreaming of what might happen the next day.

Chapter Three: Farther Beyond
A gentle stream of bright sunshine filtered through the window. Peaches woke with a start. Her night was very restful, but Peaches felt very weary at the thought of going back out of the Gardens again. Sighing, Peaches got up to her feet. She padded to the kitchen, where a piece of banana bread was waiting to be eaten. She sighed again and walked to the table, her mind full of questions to what might happen that day. Peaches half-mindedly munched on the bread.
By the time she finished, it was about 8:30. She gathered her lock pick, opened the door, and stepped outside. Peaches knew that it was the half-moon today; that meant that her parents had gone to the large trading center, where Norns from all over Albia got together to trade for products they needed from different regions around the world. This meant that Peaches was alone in her house, so no one would notice her escaping to the places beyond the Albian Gardens.
Peaches padded along the dirt path to the familiar fork in the road that separated her house from Tandy’s. Peaches was heading to the front gate when a gentle voice asked, “Where are you going?” Peaches spun around.
“Tandy!” Peaches shouted. Tandy’s brown eyes met Peaches’s green eyes. Tandy’s pink fur blew in the soft breeze. Her tail looked like it was no more than a piece of cotton, and her light brown ears pointed upwards from the side of her head. Tandy’s white hair was carefully made in a do. Tandy was, all in all, a gorgeous Norn.
Peaches sighed. She couldn’t lie to her best friend. “Tandy,” she began, “I went out yesterday for a walk, but then I wondered what was really beyond the Gardens. I decided to head out of the boundaries, so I picked the lock with one of my collector’s items. Out there, it was dark and scary, and I wasn’t sure where to go. But something is calling me, pulling me past the lemon vines. I was just now going out to explore some more, that’s all.”
Peaches waited for a rebuke from Tandy. But the pretty Norn just said, “Your reasons are your own, Peaches. I will not try to stop you. I promise I won’t tell your parents, either. I won’t spill the beans.” Tandy made a zipper-like motion across her mouth to show that her lips were sealed.
Peaches’s face brightened up when she asked, “Do you want to come with me?”
Tandy looked shocked at the offer. Peaches was afraid her friend would say no. “I am perfectly content to stay in the Albian Gardens forever. But I always knew you’d start venturing out sooner or later. You can go along without me. I’ll just settle for listening of your travels,” Tandy softly replied.
“Well…” Peaches hesitated. But then she saw a glimpse of something in her friend’s eyes. It was fear! Tandy is afraid of the outside world! Peaches knew she couldn’t persuade her friend to go.
“OK. I’ll tell you all about it when I get back.” Peaches reached over to hug Tandy. Their embrace lasted for a long time. Tears welled in Tandy’s eyes as Peaches tore herself away from her and opened the gate, this time making sure it didn’t creak. Peaches took a few steps forward. Soon she stepped back to wave goodbye, but Tandy had already disappeared.
***
Peaches jumped to avoid the knobby roots that were spread out on the unused road. Small beams of sunlight trickled through the thick canopy. The leafy scents around her mingled with the pungent smells of herbs and weeds. Peaches ran through the leaf litter as though her life depended on it. I’m finally outside of the Gardens!
Just then, Peaches smelled something new: a tangy scent of an herb she once learned about with one of her lessons with her dad. After a while of following her nose, Peaches caught a glimpse of the flower. “Trumpet flower!” Peaches exclaimed. Trumpet flower was by far the best remedy for a fever. Peaches took a mental note that the flower grew in huge clumps by the old shack.
Peaches had remembered that yesterday she had turned tail back to the gardens almost right past the wooden gardeners shed. This time, Peaches thought, I’m going to explore further.
Peaches raced past the wooden shack and jumped over the tree roots. Her heart beat faster then ever. She felt a thrill of exhilaration at feeling the rush of running through the bushes and leaves. Peaches never felt more alive then at that moment!
Peaches soon stopped dead in her tracks. She could’ve sworn something was behind a large bush in front of her. Unfortunately, the wind was blowing the wrong way. Somehow, Peaches knew that that thing would notice her soon, if not already.
Peaches carefully parted the leaves to see who was there. To her astonishment, it was another Norn! It was a girl like Peaches, but she looked a year or two older. It had white hair made into a pony tail. The strange Norn’s fur had a lavender color. On her hips were the tattoos of a pink flower. Her eyes were a dark purple. Her lips were highlighted with a dark red lipstick, and her tail was moussed upward and had a red ribbon tied at the end of it. Peaches gasped. Who is this girl?
Peaches took a look at the girl’s surroundings. She was in front of a large, stone building, and statues of weird animals were on the top of the roof. Large clumps of Morning glory grew around the building. A music machine was to her far right, and a stone slab with words written in a foreign language was above the Norn. Peaches decided to get closer to see what the markings might’ve meant.
Accidentally, Peaches tripped over a stone and was sent tumbling into the hollow where the weird Norn sat. Winded, Peaches found herself at the girl’s feet. The girl was holding a green cup and the smell of alcohol came off in waves. Is this girl drunk? Peaches thought. But there was no mistaking the anger in the girl’s eyes. Peaches closed her eyes tightly, and braced herself for an incoming end.

Chapter Four: A Bird’s-eye View
Peaches stared into the purple eyes of the Norn looking down upon her. The odd girl got up, towering above Peaches, with an angered look in her eyes. Peaches started trembling. This could be the end!
Peaches looked again at the Norn’s eyes. They seemed to have softened. The Norn waited patiently for Peaches to get up. Peaches hauled herself off of the grass and stared straight into her purple gaze. Oh, man! Peaches thought. This Norn’s eyes were the kind of eyes that can really haunt a person.
“Hey, toots, care for a swig?” The Norn asked gruffly. The purple Norn offered the green cup. Peaches knew it was full of alcohol.
“N-no thank you…” Peaches stammered.
The Norn snorted and cleared her throat. Then she said in a friendlier voice, “Why not we head back up to the Tree Bridge? There I can show you a spectacular view, if you haven’t seen it all ready.” Peaches was stunned by the offer. In the long pause, the Norn continued, “By the way, my name is Olivia Capital. What’s yours?”
Olivia held out her hand for a handshake. Peaches uncertainly accepted it and replied, “My name is Peaches Rose. I’m pleased to meet you.” Peaches took her hand away from Olivia’s and said, “I’d love to accompany you to the Tree Bridge, and I’d be honored to have a bird’s-eye view of the area.”
“I don’t understand half of what you just said!” Olivia blared. “But I’ll take you to the Tree Bridge. You look like the kind of Norn that loves to go to far away places.”
“You don’t know the half of it!” Peaches responded. “Let’s go!”
Olivia led past the building back near the gardener's shed. Then she pushed a button hidden in the bushes. In a matter of moments, a lift much like the ones at home started rolling down. See, Peaches thought, there’s nothing to be afraid of. Olivia and Peaches hopped into the elevator. A few seconds later, they were at the top. Olivia got onto a large wooden plank. Peaches hesitantly steeped on.
Peaches took a look around. A rickety, wooden bridge stretched almost endlessly on either side of her. The two Norns were far above the ground at a dizzying height. An occasional small Tree house built on one of the sides, but in the distance Peaches could see an absolutely huge tree house. Colorful banners waved in the breeze, and everything here seemed so quiet and peaceful.
“C’mon!” Olivia shouted. She grabbed Peaches by the arm and dragged her to one side of the bridge. Peaches gasped. The view was like nothing she ever dreamed. A forest stretched far beyond, blocked by large boulders. A mountain loomed high in the distance, the top engulfed in swirling, white cloud. “What do you think?” Olivia asked.
“It’s beautiful!” Peaches gasped, still staring at the miles of natural beauty ahead of them.
“Well, hows about it? Want to go back to the clearing and have a picnic?”
“Sure,” Peaches answered. “Let’s have a picnic.”
***
About twenty minutes later, the girls were chatting over in the hollow. Olivia and Peaches had so much to ask each other!
“Where do you live?” asked Olivia.
"I live in a small cottage in the Albian Gardens, just do west from here.” Peaches answered loyally.
Olivia thought for a moment and said, “I live in a huge mansion. My father’s a millionaire. Spoils me rotten, he does.”
Peaches then asked, “What language is that sign in?” she pointed to the sign in front of the stone building.
Olivia immediately replied, “That sign is in Krakish. That’s the common language of Grendels.” Olivia must not have noticed the shock on Peaches’s face for she went on, “A whole bunch of Grendels live in the Great Tree, in an area they call the Grendel Ghettos. They are the so-called guardians of the Temple of Baa.”
Peaches didn’t appear to hear the last part. The young Norn was starting to look anxiously around. What if Grendels are near? She suddenly heard a low grunting sound from the trees above. Olivia noticed her fear and said nonchalantly, “Don’t mind him. That’s just one of the Grendels swinging on those vines.”
“Vines?” Peaches inquired. She had never heard of vines in a forest.
“The ground is wetter over there, and it gets so hot it becomes a great place for jungle pants. Those Grendels call it their jungle. I never go past the border. Otherwise I’d be toast, and not the good kind!” Olivia answered.
A blue-green tail suddenly showed itself to the Norn children. Peaches couldn’t help thinking that the scales were pretty as they reflected in the sunlight. Olivia got up and said, “Well, it is best time for me to be getting home. My curfew is still at baby time.” Olivia grumbled a little as she hoisted herself off the ground.
Peaches had one more question to ask Olivia, “Olivia? Do you want to travel with me next time?”
Olivia looked back, shrugged, and replied, “Sure! I’ll be waiting for you in the clearing. Be there by noon!”
“OK!” Peaches shouted back as she started walking away. The last glimpse of Olivia Peaches saw that day was her back disappearing into the shrubs.

Next part:
Chapter Five: Enter the Jungle
Peaches woke up far before her parents were expecting her. She couldn’t wait to meet Olivia and get another glance at the mysterious Grendel. The Norn child ran into the kitchen and grabbed an old fashioned ink pen and some parchment. Peaches quickly jotted a note on the paper, saying that she’d be gone all day, swiped a chunk of cheese and a jug of milk from the pantry, and practically flew out the door.
Peaches sped past the fork in the road and onto the main street. The dust from the pathway blew out behind her, but Peaches didn’t care. She would go back to Olivia today without a care otherwise.
Now that she had become an expert lock-picker, Peaches kept her lock pick in a small hole in the ground. She quickly dug it up and picked the lock with ease. In no less than two seconds, Peaches ran on the abandoned path, leaving the gate wide open behind her.
***
The leaves made a pleasant crunching noise as Peaches ran along. Her mind was full of ideas of what she and Olivia could do that day. Maybe we can go beyond the border to meet the Grendel! That way, we can get a version that we understand about that weird sign. Peaches nodded her head decidedly. Yes, Peaches thought, that’s what we’ll do today.
Peaches hopped into the hollow by the abandoned stone building. To her dismay, Olivia wasn’t there yet. Shrugging, Peaches sat near where Olivia sat just the day before. She took out the lump of cheese and a jar of milk and prepared to have breakfast.
“May I join in for breakfast? I’ve never had food from the Albian Gardens before,” came a roughly familiar voice. Olivia stepped out of the shrubbery and plopped herself next to Peaches.
“Sure,” Peaches replied. She broke the cheese in half and handed Olivia the milk. After all, Peaches wasn’t thirsty and not that hungry.
For a few minutes, the hungry Norns munched on the simple, but filling, food. Olivia sat up straighter and said, “That was actually pretty good! I always expected that you country folk only ate grass, no offence.” Olivia pondered quietly and continued, “My father gives me the most costly foods he can find: escargot, turkeys, tacos, pitas, you name it! But I think that this country food tastes just as good.” Peaches mumbled a small, ‘mm-hmm,’ in agreement.
Peaches swallowed the cheese and asked, “Do you think we should go looking for a Grendel today?”
Olivia, who was drinking milk, sprayed the milk out on Peaches’s face. “Are you kidding!?!” She ranted. “Grendels are just about the worst things I know. And even if we do go, what if a Grendel finds us first? We’d be dead meat!”
“That may be so,” Peaches interrupted, “but I’d really like to—”
She never finished. In that moment, a shrill shriek erupted from the bushes and a flying ball of pink fur crashed into the clearing. Olivia herself screamed. Peaches’s fur stood on end. The creature stared up pleadingly into Peaches’s eyes. And just then, Peaches recognized who had come rolling down. “Tandy!” Peaches shouted.
“Hey, wait a minute!” Olivia exclaimed, “you know this girl?”
Peaches didn’t immediately answer Olivia. Instead, she lifted Tandy to her feet and asked her childhood friend, “What on Albia are you doing here?” Tandy just sniffled a little. Then Peaches turned to the bristling Olivia. “It’s all right, Olivia. This is Tandy, my best friend.”
Tandy’s brown eyes welled with tears. “Oh, Peaches,” She cried as she hugged her dear friend, “I’m so glad you’re all right! I saw the gate wide open and then I was filled with fear for you. I just wanted to make sure you were all right.”
Tandy stopped hugging Peaches and turned to Olivia, who was still seething with rage beside Peaches. Tandy cleared her throat and introduced, “My name is Tandy Thyme.” Tandy held out her hand for a friendly handshake.
For a split second, Peaches thought Olivia would pound Tandy instead of shaking her hand. Olivia was still stiff with fury. But then Peaches saw her dark purple eyes soften and she held out her hand. “My name is Olivia Capital,” she said briefly.
Peaches smiled at her friends and said, “So, how about we head to the jungle like I was talking about earlier.”
Tandy gasped in horror. “What do you mean?” She questioned fearfully.
"I mean to go looking for a Grendel,” Peaches answered.
For a second, Tandy looked speechless. Then she murmured, “I’m not going looking for a Grendel of all things. But I’ll tag along anyway. There might be some herbs there I can use. Maybe it can be the cure of a horrible disease.”
Peaches turned her head to Olivia. “Olivia?” Peaches asked.
Olivia kicked a stone. “Fine,” she sighed, “two to one, I guess.” She paused and said, “In fact… maybe I can look for the ball I accidentally kicked over the border! My daddy will be happy I found it.”
“So it’s settled?” Peaches asked. Olivia and Tandy nodded. Peaches smiled and said, “Good. Let’s go.” Olivia led Peaches and Tandy to the border. First Olivia and then Tandy crossed the boundary between the forest and the jungle. Peaches took one last glance behind. There’s no turning back now, she thought. Then she bravely stepped through the bushes and after her friends.

It sounds familiar to another story? Odd...
But the next part is here:
Chapter Six: Gregor De Gringo
Peaches hesitantly placed one foot in front of the other as she led her friends through the thick jungle. The air was hot, humid, and full of bugs and pollen. Tandy was sticking to Peaches like glue while Olivia padded on bravely. Peaches just hoped they would find the Grendel and get out of here before anything bad happens.
Well, Peaches thought, at least there are roads in the jungle. And Peaches was right. Wooden roads twisted and turned through and over the marshy ground. “Hey,” came a shout from behind. Peaches spun around, anxious that one of her friends fell into the goop. Olivia walked over to them, holding a red and white ball covered in muck. “I found my ball!” She shouted.
Peaches heaved a sigh, part relief and part exasperation. “Olivia,” Peaches said, trying to talk sense to her pal, “stay with us, OK. There are bad things in the jungle that might hurt us.” Olivia just sniffed defiantly and followed Peaches and Tandy.
Suddenly, there was a low grunting sound. Peaches whispered, “Come on,” to her companions and followed the sound. A surprised grunt came from a vine, this time louder than the one before. A bluish-green creature swung off of the vines and landed in front of the Norns. Its scales glinted unnaturally in the light. Its teeth were yellow and cracked. Its eyes were a dark red color, and the pupils were narrowed to slits. Peaches gulped when she realized that this creature was truly a Grendel.
“My, my,” the Grendel laughed, “you little guys are far from home, aren’t you?” He turned his scaly head to Peaches. Then he kindly but guardedly asked, “Who are you and what are you doing so near the Grendel Ghettos?”
Before Peaches could respond Olivia cut in, “Well, I lost my ball in the jungle muck and, um-”
“You three shouldn’t be here,” the Grendel whispered, interrupting Olivia. His eyes looked up at the canopy alertly. I wonder what startled him. Peaches thought. Then the Grendel turned back to them. “It’s very dangerous here. You should head back over the border before someone gets hurt.”
“Are you threatening us?” Olivia challenged. The Grendel curled his lips back in a snarl, baring his crooked fangs.
Tandy stepped in between the two creatures. Peaches could feel tension and anger crackling off of Olivia and the Grendel like lightning. But when the Grendel saw Tandy he relaxed, as if he hadn’t been looking for a fight. He smiled and introduced, “I’m Gregor De Gringo, son of Sir Grovadak De Gringo, former swordsman. But call me Gregor.” The Grendel held out his scaly paw. Peaches shook it. Maybe Grendels aren’t as bad as many other Norns say they are.
Gregor cleared his throat and continued, “I’ll escort you to the border, but that’s the limit. Then I’ll have to go home.”
Peaches nodded and said, “My name is Peaches Rose, and these are my friends: Olivia Capital and Tandy Thyme.” Gregor bowed in front of Tandy and Olivia. Then he stepped behind them and led the way back to the border.
***
In about half an hour, the four creatures headed back into the hollow in front of the mossy stone structure. Olivia ran for the lift before anyone could say good bye and was gone faster than a finger-snap. “Well,” Gregor murmured to Tandy and Peaches, “I guess this is goodbye.”
Gregor was just turning to leave when Peaches shouted, “Wait!” Gregor stopped. Peaches continued, “I have a few questions to ask you.”
Gregor turned around and smiled. He sat in the grassy clearing and asked, “What questions are they?”
Peaches sat down and urged Tandy to sit too. Tandy reluctantly plopped herself down beside Gregor. Peaches asked, “What does that sign say?” She pointed to the sign in Krakish above the building.
Gregor looked at it for a moment and translated, “It says, ‘Enter the Temple of Baa’.”
“Hmm…” Peaches wondered. Then she questioned, “Is it, by any chance, the abandoned temple?”
Gregor nodded. Then he replied, “You Norns call it the abandoned temple. But it is, really and truly, the burial bed for King Arbedershei Baa himself.” Peaches and Tandy gasped in awe. Is this really his tomb? Peaches wondered. She still wasn’t sure whether Gregor was trustworthy or not. But somehow, Peaches believed him.
“Just one last question, Gregor,” Peaches said. Gregor and Tandy looked keenly at Peaches when she asked, “Would you like to go on an adventure with us tomorrow?”
Tandy turned as white as chalk and Gregor gasped at the offer. But then he smiled and said, “I’d love to. I’ll meet you in the clearing at midmorning.”
“I’ll be there!” Peaches shouted as Gregor left the bushes without another word. Then she helped Tandy to her feet and said, “Let’s go home.”
***
Peaches’s walk home with Tandy was quiet. Almost no conversation went among them, and no birds sang in the thick trees. Practically no sound except the crunching of leaves was heard in the silent forest.
Just as Peaches opened the gate, Tandy asked, “Peaches, was it really a good idea to ask Gregor to come along with us?”
Peaches had to think about that one. True, he was a Grendel, true he was a beast hated and feared among many Norns out there, and true, he’s spoken as the bad guy in many nursery tales. But Peaches remembered his cool personality, his gentle nature, and his openness to her and Tandy in the hollow. Peaches nodded thoughtfully and replied, “I think he’ll make a good friend in the end.”
And Peaches was certain of it.

Oh my, it's been a while! XP Sorry! Here's the next part, but it's in a different format than usual!
Chapter Seven: An Underground Cavern
A cold, gentle breeze blew through the open window of the bedroom. Peaches sat up straight and stared at the ceiling. She shivered at the icy wind. Peaches slept hardly a wink that night because her mind was abuzz with ideas of what to do that day. Should we head for the sea? Peaches thought. Nah, we’ll save that for another day. How about going to the mountain I saw peeking in the distance? Maybe. Well, what about that Temple of Baa. I want to see what it’s like on the inside. Peaches grinned as she decided that she, Tandy, Olivia, and Gregor would today enter the Temple of Baa.
***
Peaches burst, panting, into the familiar hollow. Olivia and Tandy were all ready waiting for her. Peaches sat down in between her two friends and looked at them both, hoping to start a conversation to pass the time away. But as Peaches stared into Olivia’s purple gaze, it was almost as if her eyes were on fire. With a feeling of horror, Peaches recalled that she had invited Gregor to come with them, and at the time Olivia wasn’t there at all. For a long moment, Olivia glared at Peaches. Olivia, tired of waiting, then roared, “Why didn’t you tell me that Groggy would come with us?”
Peaches’s brown fur bristled. “Hang on, Olivia! He’ll come with us because he’s a good Grendel, once you get to know him. And his name is Gregor, not Groggy.”
Olivia just let out a ‘humph’ of contempt and stared at the bush which hid the lift button. Then she nudged Peaches, hoping to get her attention. “Yes,” asked Peaches as she noticed the gentle gesture.
“Peaches,” Olivia gasped, “what if we go down on the lift? Maybe it’ll take us below the Temple of Baa!” Peaches was just about to protest when she noticed the sense in Olivia’s idea. There was a hole directly below where the elevator currently sat. There must be a way down if it was there! Besides, what if Olivia was correct? What if there was something down there?
Peaches replied, “I think that’s a great idea. Maybe we can have a mini adventure before Gregor gets here!” Peaches turned to Tandy and asked, “Want to come too?”
For a moment, Tandy said nothing, contemplating the idea with deep thought. Then she giggled, “I guess so. It’ll be a good way to pass the time.”
Peaches, Tandy, and Olivia climbed into the elevator and pushed the down button. At once the machine reared into life and lowered them below. Peaches looked around. The place looked deserted. The light of torches that could never go out danced around the cave-like place while stalactites dripped water from the roof of the cavern. But what was in the middle of everything astonished Peaches the most. In the very center was a table with some weird writing, which Peaches now recognized as Krakish, printed on scrolls. In the middle of the table was an odd propeller-like object.
“What is it,” whispered Tandy.
“I’m not sure,” Peaches murmured back, “but I’m going to find out.”
The young Norn females cautiously approached the table, and gazed at the object. It had eight propeller blades, two wheels, and the rest looked like a bamboozling jumble of springs, gears, and hollow, metal tubes. “I wonder what happens when I push this button,” Olivia puzzled as she pushed a small blue button on the side of the machine.
“No!” Peaches and Tandy shouted in unison. But it was too late. The machine started bouncing around and making shrill squeaking noises. Peaches and Tandy rushed to Olivia’s side to try prying her fingers from the machine. As they tried to do so, the blades started beating faster and faster, lifting all three Norns off the floor.
The machine just beat its blades faster and harder, breaking a hole in the roof as it soared higher into the skies. The bits of rock and grass it broke through to get to the open sky were smacking into Olivia’s face. Peaches saw Olivia’s eyes sting at the hard sand bits that fell in her eye. For a moment Peaches felt sympathy for Olivia.
Suddenly, an updraft blew the Norns up higher. Olivia, Tandy, and Peaches let out their loudest, shrillest shrieks. The gadget coughed and spluttered as it lifted them higher, bringing them way over the jungle. From there, Peaches could see the whole of the Albian Gardens from a bird’s-eye view.
CRASH!!! With terrifying force, the object broke a hole through the roof of a tree house which brought the Norns falling to the floor. “Holy…” came an almost familiar voice. But before the Norns could ask who was there, the flying machine tumbled to the floor and broke.
Peaches looked up as a Grendel came jogging over to where the machine lay in pieces on the floor. Peaches recognized the deep sensitive eyes as Gregor’s. “What have you done to my invention?!?” He shouted, nearly knocking the Norns off their feet.
Before Peaches and Tandy could respond, Olivia said bravely, “We went down on the lift and landed on the floor of this huge cave! Then, we saw this thing,” she pointed to the crumbled gadget on the floor, “and I pushed the blue button.”
There was a long pause. In that moment of silence, Peaches looked sadly into the melancholy Grendel’s eyes and said, “I didn’t know it was yours. I’m very, very, very, very sorry. None of us meant to break your invention.”
The Grendel looked into Peaches’s eyes as if to say ‘I forgive you. It wasn’t your fault.’ He flashed the same look at Tandy, but pure rage filled his bloodshot eyes as he stared at Olivia.
“What are you doing?” Olivia asked rudely, “trying to stare me down?”
Gregor just gazed sadly at all three of the Norns and wept, “It was still in testing phase.”
Tandy, trying to cheer Gregor up, looked at him and said soothingly, “Well, look on the bright side. At least it worked, and I bet you could build another just like it.” As much as Peaches saw Tandy try to cheer up the solemn Gregor, nothing was working. All they could do was sadly watch as he put his invention in a chest across the room.

Chapter Eight: Entering the Temple
It took a lot of convincing for Peaches to coax the upset Gregor into coming along with her and her friends. He ushered them into a lift and pushed a red button shaped like an arrow pointing downwards. The crowded lift gently lowered the creatures. Stopping violently at the floor of the jungle, the elevator let out a shudder as it opened its door for the creatures to be let out. All of the creatures stepped out and continued on one of the longer roads.
All the while during the long trek through the thick jungle, Olivia and Gregor kept on bickering about the earlier fiasco with Gregor’s gadget: the flibbertigibbet, which he named after what someone calls a goofy-looking object. Gregor kept on ranting that it was all Olivia’s fault that his machine broke, while Olivia accused Gregor for building it sloppily. Tandy kept trying to stop their arguing, but the bickering creatures just ignored her vain attempts.
Out of all four creatures, Gregor knew the jungle the best. But because he was to busy quarreling with Olivia, all four creatures were going around in circles. Peaches realized with dread that unless she stopped their arguing they might never get out of this god-forsaken place.
Peaches ran ahead of Tandy towards Gregor and Olivia. She was just in time to hear their latest argument: “You just had to push the blue button! It wasn’t even ready yet!” Gregor shouted.
Olivia’s nostrils flared and lavender fur bristled while she countered, “It might’ve been able to not break from that fall if you just built it stronger!”
Olivia, though taught good manners from her father’s servants, wanted to pound Gregor right in his ugly nose. Judging by Gregor’s look in the eye, Peaches thought that he was dying to kick Olivia’s purple rear. But before the talk got physical, Peaches thrust herself in between the squabbling creatures and said, trying to reason with them both, “Look, guys. If you want to keep on arguing and lead us around in circles, be my guest. But if you want to enter the Temple of Baa with Tandy and me, then stop bickering like a couple of sparrows and let Gregor lead us to the clearing.”
Gregor didn’t know what sparrows were, but he knew clearly well what Peaches meant. Peaches watched, relieved, as Gregor ignored Olivia’s stinging looks and just walked along, taking the lead. Peaches looked at Tandy and said, “Maybe now we’ll actually get to the temple before nightfall.”
Tandy nodded her agreement, relief in her brown eyes as well. Despite what happens next, Peaches thought, we’ll get to the Temple of Baa.
***
Peaches was enthralled by the time they reached the grassy hollow. It took only fifteen minutes to get there after the argument between Gregor and Olivia, who dallied in the middle of the jungle bickering for a whole four hours. Tandy ran and hugged them both, happily sobbing, “I’m so glad you two stopped quarrelling!”
Peaches was also wild with joy that Olivia and Gregor stopped shouting at each other. Yet to her dismay, she saw that they still shot each other looks that would wither Peaches if they were aimed at her. This means they haven’t fully forgiven each other, Peaches thought sadly.
Despite Peaches’s misgivings, they arrived at the clearing with plenty of time to spare: five hours, to be precise. The sun beat down hard on the Norns’ heads, making them feel as though they were on fire. Gregor, however, was very hyper because of the heat. The lush leaves blew gently in the warm breeze heading for the sea. “Well,” Peaches yawned, “why not we rest for a while before entering the abandoned temple? We have plenty of time to spare, and our legs could use a rest.”
The others were in no hurry to disagree. The second Peaches suggested the idea of stopping for a rest, Tandy, Gregor, and Olivia collapsed to the ground and started panting for breath as though they’ve been running for hours on end. In a few minutes, Olivia stepped to her feet and groggily offered, “How’s about I go and get you guys something to eat? My tree house isn’t that far, and I’m starving.”
Peaches smiled and said, “Sure. I’m ravenous, and I bet Tandy and Gregor are as well.” At that Olivia smiled and headed to the lift for her tree house. Even though she didn’t know for sure what the word ‘ravenous’ meant, Olivia had a sneaking suspicion it meant ‘hungry.’
Not long after Olivia left, she arrived with a picnic basket. Peaches’s spirits lifted when she saw what Olivia had brought for her and her friends: some of the most pricy foods Peaches had ever seen. They were a small sea of tomato sauce floating in a crust which bordered it, and on top of it was bubbly cheese. She didn’t know what on earth they were because there weren’t such foods like it in the Albian Gardens. Even so, Gregor, Tandy, Olivia, and Peaches munched happily on the mini pizzas.
By the time they’d finished, Tandy and Peaches were covered with cheese, tomato sauce, and crust crumbs. In the Albian Gardens, manners weren’t as important as brains. But Olivia and Gregor didn’t know that. Olivia looked absolutely green in the face when she saw her friends covered with the pizza garments. “You look gross!” She shrieked out of the blue, and then she ran behind a bush. There was a loud gagging sound, and Olivia came back looking a lot less green.
Gregor burped and said, “Well, we have about four whole hours until sunset. The Temple of Baa is gigantic, so the sooner we enter, the better.” Peaches and Tandy nodded their approval, and Olivia just stared at the entrance, dying to go in.
Peaches helped Gregor and Tandy up to their feet and led the way to the front door of the stone structure. Gregor pushed the Norns aside and with all his might pulled the door open. Everyone peeked inside. The assorted stones that paved the floor, walls, and roof were hidden farther back in darkness. Lichen grew on the walls, and the whole place looked consumed in shadow.
Gregor gulped as Tandy looked about ready to faint. Olivia just asked fearfully, “Are we really going in there?”
Peaches clenched her hands into fists. After all that they’d been through, she wasn’t ready to give up just yet. “Yes,” she said bravely smiling at all three of her friends whom she dearly cared for: Tandy, her first and best friend; Olivia, the first outsider she met; and Gregor, the kind, trustworthy Grendel. Peaches liked them all. Then she said, “Yes we are.”
Peaches then walked into the eternal-looking darkness. But she knew that close behind, her three best friends were padding along.

After digging through a massive backlog of mail on my computer, I finally retrieved the last two chapters!
Chapter Nine: Caught!
Water dripped from the stone ceiling. The continuous noise of it hitting the floor both agitated and scared Peaches. Even though she couldn’t see her friends, she could smell that they were all right behind her. Cobwebs kept on getting in her hair, but Peaches didn’t notice it at all.
Just then, they saw a light that looked like a single flickering ember on the far side of the cave. I wonder what it is, Peaches thought. Either way, the creatures decided to move towards it. It felt as though hours had passed before they reached the light. Peaches soon realized that it was the light from a torch in a huge room.
Peaches, Olivia, Gregor, and Tandy peeked at a corner that made a doorway into the room. Peaches tried hard not to gasp. But she could feel that all three of her buddies were astounded as well, for in front of them was a huge shrine. Gold, sliver, and bronze treasures piled up on either side of the walls. In the center was a coffin, which probably contained King Arbedershei Baa himself. The fire of the torches danced across the room, showering he whole place with bouncing light. It also happened that nine Grendels were inside his tomb.
“What are they doing here?” Gregor asked quietly. He turned his head towards his new friends.
“Don’t you know?” Peaches asked back.
Before Gregor could answer, the Grendel who was sitting on a pedestal near the back of the room boomed, “Priests and nuns gather around me as we give thanks to King Arbedershei Baa. With his courage and bravery, he conquered the Grogorian Empire, true, but he tamed us and showed us mercy. If he were anything other than himself, she would have killed us all for sure.”
The Grendel paused for a moment. Peaches knew that the Grogorian Empire was a huge, ancient civilization made entirely of Grendels. Peaches saw that on either side, four Grendel nuns or priests were staring up at the Head Priest. He continued, “On this day, he died too soon, struck by a terrible fever,” he placed a leaf of a holly plant over Arbedershei’s coffin and continued, “May he rest peacefully.” The Head Priest bowed his head for a moment and said meaningfully, “let us all give thanks to King Arbedershei!”
The nuns, priests, and the Head Priest all bowed their heads and prayed. Hoping for a closer look, Peaches accidentally tripped on a stone. Her scream echoed throughout the whole room. Not surprisingly, the Grendels shouted, “Intruders! Intruders! Get the intruders!” The next thing Peaches knew was that she was tied together with Olivia, while Tandy and Gregor were tied up over on a far corner.
“What shall we do with them, Groucho?” an elderly nun asked the Head Priest. He looked lost in thought.
Then he replied, “Nothing yet, Granada. They must have a reason for trespassing on sacred ground.”
“What!?!” came an angry shout out back, coming from a priest. He looked furious as he continued, “Groucho, are you insane!?! They obviously are trying to steal some of his holy treasure. I say we finish them here!” Some of the others yelled their agreement, chilling Peaches to the bone.
Groucho looked at the priest and gently rebuked, “I think you must be mistaken, Graggle. This is a sacred shrine in Arbedershei’s tomb. Would he be happy if these teens were to be killed here?” At that, Graggle reacted as if he’d been punched. Then Groucho turned his head to another nun and commanded, “Bring them together, Grixie.”
Grixie lifted up Gregor and Tandy and set them down next to Peaches and Olivia. Then Groucho stepped off of the pedestal and lumbered towards the Norns. Unlike many of the other Grendels here, the Head Priest looked quite kind. He asked, “Why are you here, young creatures?”
Tandy just whimpered a little. Gregor looked around, scared half to death. Olivia was just about to open her big mouth to answer when Peaches beat her to it, “I’m so sorry we trespassed. I didn’t know there was a shrine sacred to you guys, but I’ve always wanted to see the inside of the Temple of Baa. I didn’t mean to interrupt anything. Once again, I’m sorry.”
Tandy had gone pale as Peaches made her speech while Olivia just glared boldly at the Grendels in the shrine. But Groucho just said optimistically, “I believe that she’s telling the truth. Cut the ropes, Grixie.”
Grixie, though shocked, didn’t disobey. Using her long claws, she cut the ropes, setting Peaches and her friends free. Tandy walked over to Groucho and hugged him. “Thank you ever so much for setting me and my friends free,” Tandy murmured, tears of happiness dribbling down her pink cheeks. Groucho accepted the hug happily.
The Norns got to stay for the rest of the ritual, honoring Arbedershei Baa. About half an hour later, Groucho whispered something into Graggle’s ear. Then Groucho headed for the pile of treasure and brought back four golden riches. “I think that you four deserve these. Please take one of these fabulous gifts for your honesty. Honesty is a wonderful virtue, and I think that Arbedershei himself would like it very much for you to accept these gifts.”
Olivia took a pair of golden earrings with diamonds glistening on either side of them. Gregor grabbed a golden plate, whose border was made of emerald shards. Peaches accepted a drinking flask, where the rim was silver, and semi-precious stones made a colorful pattern around the middle. But when it was Tandy’s turn to take what remained, a beautiful crown with silver writing saying ‘Life is a Treasure,’ Tandy bluntly refused to take it. “I do think it’s beautiful,” she explained to Groucho when she said no, “but I’d like it to stay in the temple, where it belongs.”
Groucho beamed radiantly and said, “Very well. I shall put it back on the pile of Arbedershei’s riches. Generosity is another virtue which will help you out very well in life.” Groucho placed the crown back on one of the piles. Then he turned to the creatures, who were still marveling at the treasures, and offered, “We will all escort you out. It’s very dark out now, and we need to get home as well.”
Tandy, Olivia, and Gregor looked expectantly at Peaches. Meeting her friend’s eyes, she realized that they were all counting on her to give the word. She then looked straight in the eyes of Groucho and murmured, “I accept. Let’s go home.”
To be continued...

*drumroll* And now, the grand finale has arrived! Part ten is in the house!
Chapter Ten: Looking Ahead
Peaches, Olivia, Gregor and Tandy followed Groucho and the Grendels until they entered the familiar clearing. Stars shimmered in the sky, accompanied by the light of the full moon. Peaches saw Tandy’s pink fur bristle as an owl hooted in the far distance. Even so, all of her friends looked comforted to be out of the temple. Olivia’s golden earring’s jingled with every step she took. Gregor looked as if his arms would fall off as he lugged his plate around. Peaches couldn’t blame him. Gold, she soon realized, was a very heavy metal.
Groucho then said, breaking the nighttime silence, “Now it is time for us to go. It is getting awfully late.” Every one of his followers nodded in agreement. All of the Grendels, except for Graggle, exited with him. Olivia headed up the lift, and Gregor walked after Groucho and the nuns and priests. Tandy headed in the bushes for the Albian Gardens.
Peaches was just about to leave the hollow when Graggle rested one of his scaly hands on her shoulder. Peaches turned around and faced him in his glowing yellow eyes. “You are a very honest person,” he whispered. Then he added, “As unassigned leader of this group, you are responsible for every one of your friends.”
Peaches was stunned. She had never thought that Graggle, who wanted to execute them back in the shrine, would give her a complement. When Graggle saw the disbelief in her eyes, he explained, “Despite the fact that you interrupted an important meeting on holy ground, you admitted the truth. Then I understood that you and your friends didn’t mean any harm. I was very disappointed with myself.”
Peaches patted him appreciatively on the shoulder. Then she turned to leave as there was a quiet, “Hey, Peaches, are you ready to go?” from Tandy. Peaches turned to say goodbye, but Graggle had already left.
***
The whole forest was dark. Peaches and Tandy wandered by the forbidding trees. Things in this forest looked ten times as scary at night than during the day. Peaches struggled to carry on, for she was sleepy and the flask she carried was unimaginably heavy.
Very soon, Peaches set down her cup and picked the lock with her lock-pick, which she kept nearby. As the gate opened, she picked up her new gift and motioned Tandy to follow. In no less than two minutes, they were at the fork in the road which separated their houses. The two Norns bid each other one last goodbye, and then headed home to where their parents would be waiting.
Peaches entered her house. Everything was dark, but Peaches managed to read the time. Nine o’clock, Peaches thought, it’s way past my bed time. Suddenly, the lights went on, and there, standing right in front of her, were two very mad parents. “Peaches Amelia Rose,” Her mother seethed, “You have some explaining to do.”
***
Two days later, Peaches exited her home, exhausted and weary. She stumbled drowsily to the fork in the road. There she met Tandy, who looked quite happy, and all of her exhaustion vanished. “Hey, there, Peaches!” Tandy squealed, delighted.
“Hello, Tandy,” Peaches mumbled.
Tandy looked at her and said, “I was confined to my field, doing garden chores, for hours yesterday. That was my penalty for coming home late.” She looked at Peaches and added, “What happened to you?”
“Well, for starters my parents read the Riot Act to me,” Peaches mumbled, “and then I was sentenced to my room. They gave me a lot of work to do up there.”
Tandy gazed sympathetically at Peaches, and then she said quietly, “Pull yourself together, Peaches. Why not we head over to the hollow? Maybe Gregor and Olivia are waiting for us.” Peaches smiled at the idea and padded with Tandy to the gate. There, Peaches grabbed the lock-pick, opened the gate, and stepped outside the Gardens again.
***
Peaches felt a surge of happiness as she felt the familiar rush of running through the forest. Tandy followed step by step behind her. Peaches and Tandy burst into the clearing, ecstatic when they saw Gregor and Olivia there as well. They were all eager to talk to each other. “So,” Peaches asked Olivia, “what happened to you yesterday?”
Olivia just beamed, her golden earrings tinkling, and replied, “My dad doesn’t punish me for being out later than usual. I didn’t try going to the hollow yesterday, thinking you guys weren’t there.”
Then Tandy turned to Gregor and asked, “What about you?”
“Grendels have serious penalties for the slightest thing. I had to dangle off of a thin, metal wire about twenty foot-lengths above the ground all day yesterday. What about you guys?”
The four happily exchanged news, relieved that they could see each other again. At last, Olivia asked, “Now that we are all here again, what adventure will we have today?”
Everyone looked at Peaches. She stared at the skies, lost in thought. Then she smiled at all of her wonderful friends and replied, “Today is a new day, guys. And every day brings new adventure to look forward to.”
She got up and her friends followed. Peaches smiled at all of them and started walking towards the mountain from the clearing. She took a look back as Olivia, Tandy, and Gregor following her to the mountain. Things can’t possibly be better, Peaches thought as she and her friends adventured into the great unknown once again.
