Roleplays aren't the most popular thing at Creatures Caves right now, but at least Hawksight and I may get a kick out of this.

Basicly, this is what would happen if Viara never rescued Saphire in the first Literal Role Play. Go nuts :)

I'd like mosly returning characters unless you have none like Hawksight, then you can introduce them like this, or just to remind us who they are if they're returning:

Name: Viara
Gender: Female
Species: Anthro dragon
Appearance: Dull olive scales, bloodshot red eyes, medium-sized wings, long tail, ivory-colored horn cracked with wear. Wears a red trenchcoat.
Notes: *sigh* Viara is the queen of a planet called Candrikar, and, in this role play, has been just recently appointed.

And now, for our first post;

"HA! Not so tough without a head, aren't you?" Viara laughed as she watched the twiching body of the manticore that she had just beheaded. The rainforest winds picked up and seemed to laugh with her.

Oh, the joys of being able to teleport from and to anywhere anytime you wanted.

Plus, this gave Viara time to work on her fighing skills. She wiped the blue blood from the manticore on a nearby leaf and sheathed it. She checked her pocketwatch.

Half past eleven. Teatime.

Viara pulled a tiny silver hoop out of her pocked, fingered a switch on the side, and chucked it on the ground in front of her. In no time, it was as large as a hula hoop. She jumped and dissapeared through the hoop.

Now all that was left of Viara's work was the headless manticore. It twitched no more.

I'm not sure how to roleplay yet, ES... can you explain to me how? I'd like to do this roleplaying thing when inspiration isn't hitting me. :)

But... I'll try to RP. Here's my character (who I've always dreamed to be):

Name: Ophelia
Gender: Female
Species: Moon/Ice Dragoness; Anthro style
Physical Features: Has silvery-white scales that glow silvery-blue in the moonlight. Her blue eyes glint like stars. She is a little larger than the average Dragon, and has a pair of medium sized wings and a tail. Her tail-tip is the rare aquatic variety.
Characteristics: "Calm" and "quiet" are the two best words to describe Ophelia. She is a kindhearted, gentle soul that is blessed with mystical powers. In Dragon rank, she'd be the daughter of a Duchess and a Duke.

My first post here:

Ophelia walked by the dead, beheaded manticore. The pretty Dragon winced. "Oh, you poor thing!" She murmured. The Moon Dragoness used her otherworldly powers to bring the little creature back to life (with a head).

Ophelia, satesfied with herself, continued to head along the leafy path. Her blue eyes darted this way and that, eyeing every motion. Her aquatic tail tip swished, making the leaves that were slowly falling dance in a frenzy.

Ophelia checked her wristwatch: exactly 11:30. Time to head over to the mossy knoll for some Rosehip Tea and oatmeal cookies.

She headed along the path. The animals never ran away from Ophelia; they knew that she was one of the very few Dragons in these parts that saw the value of peace and nature. Some even followed her and insisted on making her things. Ophelia was always modest and gave all the credit to them.

As she headed back to the knoll, followed by a little group of wood elves and Wolven Animagics, she bumped into someone: a Dragon with dull olive green scales, also an Anthro. Ophelia gasped.

This is the first time I've RPed here, mostly I go to Blackstar or TOCAF to do so.

Name: Gardon
Gender: Male
Species: Anthro Ice Dragon
Appearance: Typical dragon, with white scales and blood red eyes.
Notes: He is a loner who has very little friends. Being an Ice Dragon, he cannot stand the heat and may die from it.

Basicly, we take turns telling parts of a story. No saying "And then everyone died" or controlling other people's characters (unless they say so). I would introduce your character along with a paragraph or two, a I have done, to set down how your character is like.

Name: Moon Shining on Desert Oasis (Short name: Oasis)
Gender: Female
Species: Desert/Moon Dragon, Anthro
Appearance: Sandy colored scales, a scorpion tail, midnight blue eyes with a white pupil, deerlike antlers, white feathered wings
Notes: She is a member of the Tribe of Hybrids. While most Dragon societies do not mind hybrid children or their mothers, some are disgusted by them. The city of dragons near the Tribe's cave is one of them. Hybrid children and their mothers are welcomed here and given new names.

"Oasis! Oasis, I must speak with you." An ancient looking Earth/Water dragon called. He was Chieftain of the Tribe, and was always called by his full name.

"What do you need, Quicksand that Traps the Unwary?" Oasis asked.

"Food is in shortage. As my deputy, you must take a hunting party out and find more."

"Yes, Chief." Oasis replied. She knew that many of the warriors were out patrolling the territory, so she walked outside and sounded the Hunt Call, a low, droning hum that was felt more than heard, and could be detected almost a mile away.

Ophelia's ears and wings drooped. The elves and animagics following her backed away slowly and silently. Just as the olive-green Anthro Dragoness was about to speak, a low hum could be heard, sending sivers down Ophelia's spine. She new that it was the Hunt Call of the Tribe of Hybrids; an elderly rabbit animagic claimed that there was a desert not too far away, where the Tribe of Hybrids lived closer to the Forest of Secrets rather than the heart of the desert (Ophelia didn't know what the Desert was called).

All Ophelia did after a few seconds of the hum was patiently wait for the Dragon she bumped into to speak.

Gardon landed nearby Ophelia. He had sensed there were more dragons nearby, and in spite of himself, he had to check it out.

However, he wasn't one to just walk up and introduce himself. While he was waiting to get noticed, he breathed a thin wave of ice over himself to cool down.

A flash of rainbow light retreated from her as Viara arrived back at Candrikar. Viara stepped out of the mirror, satisfied. Now for tea.

....................

After a large, hot cup of chai tea and a box of cookies, she decided she would check to see if everyone else was alright today. She flitted upwards and zoomed through the huge cherrywood doors and through the marble-floored entry. Through the matching arch, and she was pleased with what she saw.

The air was thick with happy dragons flying about, and were going in and out of the many caves carved into the cliffsides. Viara swooped, not to the cliffside, but to the bottom of the canyon.

Ophelia felt something... or someone close behind her. She turned around to find a male Ice Dragon. For a moment, Ophelia was speechless, but then she came to her senses and murmured, "My good fellow, I haven't time to talk at this moment; teatime, you know." She shrugged and mumbled, "I'll give you my address. Would you like to meet me at the grassy knoll at noon tommorow?"

Without waiting for a reply, the sparkling Moon Dragoness gently plucked a large leaf and dipped her blunt foreclaw in a berry thicket. She made the cooardinates, starting from the center of the forest. Mythos had fewer Dragons on it than Candrikar, but the reign of the Candrikarians made it so strong that their queen ruled Mythos as well.

"And here you are." Ophelia gave the written-on leaf to the Ice Dragon. She winked at him and started flying to the grassy knoll by the edge of the cavernous canyon; not even a Moon Dragoness like herself could be late for tea and cookies.

***

After a lucious meal of Jasmine tea and sugar cookies, Ophelia sat down. The grassy knoll she lived on was small, but pretty, with little dots of colored light making its way onto her snowy bed. The Dragoness yawned and settled down to sleep. Some of the whiffle birds sang a slow, deep lullaby, and sleep crashed on Ophelia like a black wave.

Gardon looked at the adress on the leaf after Ophelia left.

That was easy, he thought.

He would head for the knoll indicated on the leaf at the indicacted time, but being a pure blood ice dragon, the heat here was likely to get to him. It was time to head north, to the colder regions.

And with a wing-flap, he was gone.

Many dragons gathered around Oasis. Before a hunt, the dragons would sit in a circle. Typically, the eldest one would lead the Hunting Chant. That eldest one was a male Jungle/Fire dragon named Flame that Rips through the Forest (Flame).

"We sit before you, Tribe of Eternal Light, to ask you for plentiful prey." Flame stated, head bowed.

"May you share your bounty with your children." All the others chanted at the same time.

"We are your servants, ancestors of our ancestors, and we are grateful for your gift of a home." Flame said.

"May you smile on our brothers and sisters." All the dragons, including Flame, said together.

After the chant was over, all the dragons dispersed. Oasis scented the air, and detected an elderly deer.

Even though she had wings, it was considered unfair to use them while hunting. So she followed the scent to a small grassy knoll on the edge of the Canyon of Voices. No deer, but another Dragon. She walked curiously up toward her, and since she could tell she was not hostile, tapped her on the shoulder.

Gardon walked over the creaking ice sheets of the North.

This is where he felt best. The warmer areas towards the equator were not his area, and the heat could kill him-quite literally.

For the meantime, he spotted an ice shark swimming beneath a breathing hole made by some sort of mammal.

He went over to the hole, preparing to snare the shark and have it for dinner.

Ophelia woke with a start as she felt a tap on her shoulder. At first, she was tense and ready for battle, but this creature didn't seem hostile. I mean, what hostile creature would tap you on the shoulder so gently?

The slowly turned her head around and came face-to-face with another Dragon. Ophelia thought it was a little rude to wake one up during a nap, but the sparkly Moon Dragoness was to polite to say it. She merely said, "Hello, there. What's your name?" and waited for a response.

But Ophelia had an idea.

She clapped her hands twice and out of the woods came a dwarf. This little creature had an orange outfit and a gray beard. "Stonegore, can you please fetch us two mugs?"

Stonegore grunted and ran into the bushes. He came back with two stone mugs. The dwarf poured the jasmine tea into them.

"Thank you, Stonegore." Ophelia murmured. She took the tea from Stonegore's hands and placed them on an ice block of which she used as her table. The Moon Dragoness handed Oasis a mug and she started to sip the warm tea.

Viara leaned against the tall gold-trimmed oak desk and stared, annoyed, at the anthro iguana behind it. The skin on his neck folded angrily as he pushed his glasses up his nose and crossed his arms. "You're late," he stated. Viara raised a scaly eyebrow and snorted. "Yeah? What's so important about this diplomatic thing anyway?" She lashed her tail about. The iguana secretary took a deep breath, and Viara rolled her eyes. She knew what was coming.

When he finished talking 10 minutes later, Viara stopped playing Pong on her watch and smiled at him sarcasticly. "Another long speech, another 10 minutes of my life wasted. Goodbye. I'm now late for my ride," and Viara flew out the door. The secretary sighed and sat down. "Kids these days."

Viara flew to the top of the canyon, where the ships were kept. One of her anthro gryphon guards stood at the end of the ramp of a smaller one. "You're running late. Hurry!" He shouted. He had a point. You wouldn't want to see Kethmos angry.

Kethmos was the oldest and wisest dragon on all of Candrikar, and a rare diamond dragon. He accompanied Viara on all of her diplomatic missions to their neighboring planets, Mythos and Ferellum. Today they would be going to Mythos for a cencus. The population often changes, with plauges and large amounts of large clutches of eggs in short periods of time. Viara's claws fumbled on the rubber rungs of the ramp as she made her way into the luxury cruiser.

Oasis sipped her tea. She noticed that Ophelia was a hybrid, and thought about introducing her to the Tribe.

"The Tribe is having a food shortage. That's why I'm out here. I'm supposed to be hunting."

Oasis thought some more.

'This dragon has taught me about some of her culture's ways, namely tea-time.'

"Ophelia, you have been generous enough to show me how the city-folk eat. It is only fair that I show you some of our ways. Would you like to come hunting with me?"

"I'm actually not a hybrid at all. Moon Dragons such as myself are descended from the Ice Dragon gods. I'm actually a purebred, but I really enjoy your company."

Ophelia gently tore a piece of jerky and popped it in her mouth. It tasted surprisingly yummy.

Ophelia thought and said, "I'd love to go to your tribe, though. I never hunt, as it would scare these poor animals. But I'll tell Zefful to make buiscuts and bread for the Tribe of Hybrids, if you like."

Her scorpion tail twitched nervously.

"Be right back."

"...Before we leave, though, I would like to ask... do you want to keep Zefful? He's a little dwarf that loves to bake for Dragons. He makes excellent tea and cookies as well as other pastries. He can even make superb stews that appetizes even the critics! He makes food for me all the time, and in exchange I give him shelter, a place to sleep, and friendship."

"Hang on, Oasis!" Ophelia shouted. She clicked her tongue a couple times and out of the woods came a little dwarf. He had a gray beard with woodchips logded in it. His eyes, a translucent blue, were bright and cheery. He wore a green outfit: A green pointed cap, a green shirt and pair of pants, and two green leather shoes.

"Hey, there, Opelia! Time for dinner already?" The dwarf gruffly asked.

"No, Zefful. I really like you, you know, but there are other Dragons that need you more than I do.

"The Tribe of Hybrids is having a food shortage, and they'd be happy to have a chef of your stature to make them food in this famine. Would you like to cook for them, Zefful?"

Zefful grumbled a little bit, and then argued, "One of those Hybrids almost had me as a meal! The hybrid Talon of Swooping Eagle grabbed me one day when I was on my way to you, remember? Talon wasn't very bright, no offence; just as I was about to enter his mouth, he got distracted by an upwind rabbit animagic. I got away before he could get back to me."

"...Will you cook for them?" Ophelia pressed.

The dwarf, angry, growled, "That guy almost cost me my life! Don't you understand?! I'm NOT going to cook for them, and that's final!"

Ophelia felt both annoyed and uncomfortable; annoyed that Zefful was acting so stubborn and uncomfortable because she knew that Oasis was listening to every word of this conversation. "Zefful," Ophelia sighed, "not all of them are like that. These Dragons are starving, some maybe all the way to death. I think that they'll keep you well. If not, then they'll have to answer to me."

For the first time Ophelia saw the firey dwarf that day, the Moon Dragoness noticed a smile creep on Zefful's face. "Very well, Ophelia. I respect you and I appriciate your kindness to the needy. I live in a family of dedicated bakers and chefs that would be happy to move in with the tribe."

Ophelia smiled and nodded. Zefful got on her back as though the Moon Dragoness were about to take to the skies. But Ophelia walked over to Oasis and said, "Time to go, my friend."

Ophelia, who only flew when needed and wasn't a tree-dweller, had a little bit of a rough time following Oasis. Ophelia left behind a trail of stardust in the undergrowth as the Moon Dragoness followed her hybrid companion.

About five minutes later, Oasis, still tree-hopping, let out a haunting wail. This was to inform the Tribe of her return.

Oasis broke through the tree line into a small clearing with a cave in the side of a cliff.

"We're here."

Quicksand that Traps the Unwary was in front of the entrance to the cave.

"Oasis, why are you so late? The last hunter to return was almost half an hour ago." he said in his cracked, aged voice.

Ophelia came out of the underbrush at the brink of the tree line and nearly fell into a sandy hollow. Zefful, who was still riding on her back, muttered in Ophelia's ear, "Watch where you're going!"

Ophelia murmured a quick "Sorry." to the green-cloaked dwarf and took in the details of the clearing. The Moon Dragoness noticed Oasis down there talking with an elderly Dragon that seemed to be both worried and annoyed. Many other Dragons of various crossbreeds were watching the Dragon Elder talk to Ophelia's new friend.

There were dens around the clearing; There was a hollowed out trunk of a redwood tree that looked just large enough to hold young Dragons, a big thicket of giant braken that seemed to lead somewhere, a group of nestings in the bushes, and a small cave that was nearly hidden by lichen.

On the other side of the hollow was a rock; one of the biggest Ophelia had ever seen. From the angle she was at, the Moon Dragoness thought it looked as though it were touching the sky. There was a cave in there that must've belonged to whoever led the tribe.

I should make my entrance into the hollow look presentable, Ophelia thought. But I'm not sure how. It'd be idiotic of me to send Zefful down there to ask Oasis how to do it.

And then it hit her.

Ophelia opened her right hand to reveal her palm to the sky. She closed her blue eyes and whispered in a voice softer than a harp's strings, "Let there be stars."

Almost instantly, Ophelia felt the energy and power course through her veins. She watched as a beam of violet light touched the clouds. Time seemed to be playing before everyone's eyes. Astonished cries and gasps sounded from the clearing. They saw the sun speed down past the mountains in the far distance and the moon to rise. In a matter of moments, it was midnight, and a shaft of moonlight was in the center of the clearing.

"Hey, what're you doing?!" Zefful growled as Ophelia opened her wings and took to the air. She felt as though she were soaring through the stars. Her rare aquatic tail tip swished, sending some of the late-autumn leaves that were still falling to twirl in a frenzy.

Zefful, on the other hand, wasn't having a good time. The poor dwarf had one hand hanging on to his hat and the other clinging to Ophelia for dear life. Seeing that her rider was anxious, Ophelia slowed down.

She then got over the moon, casting a Dragon-shaped shadow on the clearing. As though descending from the starlit heavens, the Moon Dragoness gently landed in the center of the moonbeam. Her wings sparkles, casting colored lights around the whole hollow.

Then, all of a sudden, Ophelia heard a gasp. A small Dragon walked up to her and said, "She came from the stars!" Amazed murmurs and shouts sounded around Ophelia. After a moment, there was silence. Ophelia bowed her head and neck as she saw at least five dozen eyes staring at her.

Quicksand stared. As Chieftain of the Tribe, he was the spiritual leader and the ambassador of the Tribe. He wanted to let the young Moon dragoness speak, and hear what she had to say, so with a surprisingly powerful voice, compared to how he spoke earlier, he yelled,

"SILENCE!"

All the dragons in the clearing quieted down and looked over at Quicksand.

"We will make this young dragoness welcome. You will treat her with respect." Quicksand hobbled over to Ophelia with his walking stick.

"My deputy here told me that your name was Ophelia. That is not a name. It does not reflect who you are, or how you behave. You need a true name. It shall be given to you at sun-wake tomorrow. Ajmatei, sister."

All the dragons repeated after Quicksand. "Ajmatei! Ajmatei!"

Oasis walked over to Ophelia and whispered in her ear, "Ajmatei means Welcome. It is said to all the Learners when they become warriors, hunters, or medicine dragons."

Post 500! Yahoo!

Ophelia gasped. A member of the Tribe of Hybrids? Her?

The sweet Dragoness didn't want to offend the leader of the Tribe, so she said in a respectful way, "I like it that you would like to welcome me into your glorious Tribe, magnificent leader. But I'm afraid that life isn't for me. I can't stand eating meat or hunting poor, helpless animals. I'd miss my grassy knoll that overlooks the Canyon of Voices. I am also a pacifist, so I never fight.

"Dont take this the wrong way, Milord. Oasis is a good friend of mine, but I'm not used to having many dozens of others around me. And, the most important reason of all, is that..." Ophelia didn't know how to break it to Quicksand. She gulped and continued, "I'm not a hybrid."

Many gasps and whispers sounded around her. Ophelia bit her lip and explained, "Moon Dragons and Dragonesses such as myself are said to be descendants of the Ice Dragon gods. The gods themselves give us our names. I was named Ophelia as a symbol of peace and tranquility for all. I'm afraid it isn't supposed to represent the soul inside me; it's a symbol of what I'm destined to be. I... I don't think I can join you."

"I bet you can't!" A Dragon in the audience rudely shouted. A small Dragon headed up to where Ophelia stood. He had gray scales, little wings, big eyes, and half-moon spectacles. His dark gray eyes glinted in stubborness as he stated, "The Tribe of Hybrids is for hybrid Dragons only. You and your little dwarf can leave!" He pointed at Zefful.

"Shush, Scree where Falcons Nest! This is a visitor!" Shushed a large Female Dragoness. Scree reluctantly kept quiet. Ophelia sent a silent prayer of thanks that he didn't say any more; much more of that would've gotten Zefful all fueled up for a fight with the youthful Dragon.

"...but I must ask, my leige: May I please stay for the night? The knoll is close by, but I'm very tired." Ophelia braced herself for any scorn, pressing, or acceptance from Quicksand, Oasis, and the entire Tribe.

Oasis and Quicksand smiled. Quicksand spoke

"You need not fear rejection. Many of these dragons have never seen a non-hybrid dragon before, especially the young ones. Our elders know that many of the stories of non-hybirds are not true, but nobody would believe them when they said so. Many of them choose to believe what there is no proof of."

Quicksand turned to the crowd of hybrids.

"Do you truly doubt my leadership so that you believe I would let an evil dragon into our Tribe? I believe it is quite clear that this young dragoness is far from evil. Tell me, anyone, what makes you think she is bad? Is it her heritage? If you truly believe this, you are not worthy of being in our Tribe. Our ways are the ways of acceptance. Do you not remember the time when a poor, starved Jungle dragon crawled to our cave, too weak to stand? Was he evil?"

Everyone was shocked into silence, until Scree, the young one who insulted her earlier, walked up and said, "I'm sorry. I've never seen a purebred dragon before, and most stories say that they're evil beings who destroy hybrids on sight. You just proved them wrong."

Ophelia smiled at Quicksand and Oasis. She announced, "I like you all, and I appriciate your welcome. But instead of becoming a member, may I have the honor of coming over for a visit every Sunday for teatime?"

She walked up to Scree and said, "Apology accepted, little one. But I have to say that the stories aren't completely wrong. Some of the purebred Dragons feel the need to make their reign spread over the three joint worlds, Mythos, Candrikar, and Ferellum. Others really do try to weed out hybrids. Some more are those who are to bring tranquility, and the rest are all important to the wellbeing of Dragons. In the end it all evens out." Scree and the other young ones listened in awe as the Moon Dragoness spoke.

Ophelia clicked her tongue and Zefful hopped off her back. The hybrids close by curiously stared at the tiny fellow. "This is Zefful, my little chef. He would be honored to become the chef of your tribe. In times of little food, he can bake excellent breads, pastries, and stews if there's fresh meat and vegetables. He can even make exquisite tea and cookies on Sundays."

The hybrid Dragoness that silenced Scree earlier came up to Ophelia and introduced, "I am Snow that Wrinkles the Rocks, but please just call me Snow. If Quicksand that Traps the Unwary would like, I can show you to the healer's den for a rest for the night." Snow and Ophelia cast an eye on the elderly Dragon.

Ophelia hoped that she could stay for the night. Even though Ophelia was a Moon Dragoness, and could see as well as night as in day, she was too tired to trudge all the way back to the grassy knoll. Ophelia, after thinking about this, waited for a response from the leader and Oasis.

"That would be fine. Please, do make yourself at home. Snow, please do show her to the healer's den. She looks tired."

Quicksand hobbled away toward his cave-den. Then, he turned around again.

"Almost forgot. It would be excellent if you would come over each Sunday."

With that, Quicksand went into his den. Things had begun to quiet down as dragons began to go to bed.

"Well, I think I should go to bed too. *Yawn* G'night, Ophelia. G'night, Snow."

With that, Oasis jumped up to a hole in a tree and went inside.
