Just like the topic title says, there's something that's become increasingly apparent about this forum... Strangeo used to be a mixture of interesting, intelligent off topic discussions and games, but now it's just cluttered with games and nothing else... Except maybe the odd topic about the latest instant messaging fad. Riveting stuff.  I just thought as Strangeo's manager it would be good for me to try and change that, wouldn't you guys like to try and change things too? Maybe I am being a bit optimistic by posting this, considering the amount of traffic these forums have been getting lately, but the fact still remains that people tend to post more if a topic is of interest to them, and I think this forum has more potential. Let's face it, not all of us are just interested in playing forum games all the time, it can get a bit boring. |

I'm more refering to off topic discussions really, things that anyone can have a good, long talk about - adoption agencies and roleplaying are all very well but they're not something everybody here wants to join in with... The way I see it, there's so much that falls under the umbrella of off topic, for example: Entertainment (books, movies, theatre, music, TV) Sport (football, motorsport, tennis) Technology (gaming, operating systems, development) News (international, general interest) I'm not saying that we have to discuss those particular things, it's just a general example of what we could talk about. In short, I'm just suggesting that we start posting informal discussions about any topic (within reason) really. To try and make Strangeo a more talkative forum.  |

Yeah, I've seemed to notice that there is less talking about non-Creatures related things in Strangeo. The most recent I've seen there were just the "Dragon Adoptions", my "Dragon Quiz", and "Celebrate Here!" I agree with you, Laura: we should probably try to make Strangeo more talkative . I posted a section where some of the users can discuss things about one of the newest roll-playing games, F.A.T.E. (which I'm really interested in  .)I personally think that Strangeo could really be more talkative and social than it what it is now. Right now, it's just a random jumble of games and a few other miscellaneous topics  .Hawksight  |

I was thinking of perhaps a new Forum opening up just for the games (like the Word Game and the Caption Contest and the Norn Addiction Symptoms pages): The Games Forum! I think that that way, Strangeo can be a little neater and probably lots more talkative. NOTE*** If this is entirely in Rascii's power and it won't be a reality . The Games Forum thing was only a suggestion, so it's not like I'd cry if it probably won't become *part* of the Forums.Hawksight |

Since I created this topic, things have been going well on the off-topic discussion front, wouldn't you say? It seems that more people are posting in the discussions, moreso than the games now, it's good to see. So, keep up the good posting! Remember, if you happen to think of an off-topic discussion and you think that others would find it interesting and enjoyable, feel free to post it. Even some new games would good, just before people kept posting in the same old ones. |

I feel that as the original founder of Stangeo, I have a good understanding of exactly how I want Strangeo to be. I will help by randomly suggesting topics: - pants. pants haven't really been changed drastically since they were first invented... or have they? why is this? how could we change pants? i hate pants. - sparkles. everyone loves sparkles. i love making arts and crafts with sparkles. there are so many things one can do with sparkles... what's your favourite things to do with sparkles? what's a really useful thing you can make with sparkles? what's a completely useless thing? - leerning. do you like learning? what's your earliest memory of actively learning something? was it hard? why is learning so hard? i should be doing homework. - folk. i have to design a poster for a folk concert but i really don't know what to do because folk is so broad. but i don't want it to be toooo sterotypical. please think of random works that remind you of folk. do you love folk? because you really should. all you need is some random kid to look around themselves and find ridiculous things to post and then ask absurd questions. if one person leads this, the rest will follow. or, that's how it worked originally, at least. this forum is a thinking forum, it's just also a forum which acknowledges that you think ridiculous and hilarious things but don't always get to share them. sometimes i like to think about what i will be for halloween in a month that's not halloweeny at all. january, for example. okay, kewl. Would it be worth having a thread for our non-creatures stories/songs/poetry? The Writings forum seems to be exclusively creatures related, or is that just what happens to be the bulk? The Writings forum description doesn't specifically say that everything in there has to be Creatures related, so I personally see no harm in posting off topic writings there too. Also, if it's all confined to just one thread, I can see it getting disorganised. |

well you said there was a non-game thread. So i added another one. Now there are TWO non-game threads on the front page of strangeo.
