I kind of like those mechanical hummingbird things that fly around... those go all over the place.

I've imported 6 from Kitty Tikara and 3 from evolnemesis. I've also added (more) tribbles and more seeds to keep the tribbles from dying out again. To spice things up a little, I've also added Random Teleporters to the ship to get the creatures to spread out a little. That's the problem with too much food. Populations tend to settle down in one spot. XD Also turned off the empathic... feeder? Just to keep them from crowding the Meso door.

Also, I've already asked a few of you in private, but I'd like to open up the stream to genetic file submissions as well. That is, if you have a genetic breed that you haven't made available for public download that you'd feel comfortable submitting to the stream, please send them my way. The only thing is, the Norn Mother I made for the stream works the same way as the Grendel and Ettin mothers so I never know what's going to come out of a Norn Mother egg.

The gene submission rules are the same as the creatures submission rules - no immortals or invulnerable creatures and the genetics must be designed by you. The only addition I'd like you to make to the genomes you send is is to make their aging genes non-mutatable and to set them to vanilla values. I will check and fix them myself if I have to.

Thanks again, everyone and keep those submissions and suggestions coming!

Last night I imported 4 creatures from evolnemesis and this afternoon I've added Offline Portals. I hope this keeps the population from getting too concentrated. It worked on a private run I'm doing. :)

Also, based on evolnemesis' research, Vampess' theories and my own experience and experiments, I've decided to add more Floating Duck Toys to help creatures pass the IQ tests and prevent EE from cropping up quite so often.

So far, it's working. If they don't get so preoccupied with how bored they are, they're more likely to search for food. I -could- try to implement the Hunger Overwhelmsion genes in all of these genomes but... that's a pretty daunting task given the sheer number of them on this computer.

Anyway, if more creatures can pass the IQ test, maybe more interesting creatures will be included in the next Upload Pack as a result. :P

I'm in the process of clearing out the existing creatures as many are immortal and tomorrow I'm fixing the genetics on this computer to prevent fast-agers and immortals from occurring naturally (again).

For now, the stream's going offline but it will return as soon as the problem has been fixed.

The stream is back! I know it's been up and down with air time but that's the nature of having computers run all the time during the heat. Sometimes they need to be shut down for a while.

Anyway, I've imported 8 of evolnemesis' creatures and for some added variety I've added 7 wolflings from an ongoing private run on my main computer. I've also opted to shut off the Grendel, Norn and Ettin mothers for now. If I recall correctly, all of the creatures I've imported today have passed the IQ test and -should- breed. Hopefully the terrible male/female ratio doesn't cause too many problems.

As always, I'm always open to any genetics and creatures that you're willing to send my way. The usual rules still apply. Must not be fast-aging or immortal, must be bred by or gengineered by you and if you're sending me genetics, the aging genes must be set to vanilla levels to prevent fast-agers and immortals.

Thanks for sticking with me!

Removed some potential immortal creatures and added 7 creatures from KittyTikara. Also turned the music back on. :)

ETA: In the middle of the night, I went ahead and added 7 creatures from evolnemesis and removed more potentially immortal creatures. I also used Population Control Options to disable breeding before the Adult stage to help keep the immortal genes from propagating further.

There is but it doesn't export them. It's supposed to, but it doesn't work for me. There's another that's supposed to render them infertile but that doesn't work on my PC either.

Started the game again after it crashed, turned the music back on (seriously, continuous play never works for some reason - it always turns itself off after a while) and imported 5 creatures from evolnemesis.

Remember, I am always open to creatures to import into the stream so if you have any creatures lying around that follow my simple rules and that you'd like to see in the stream, please send them my way.

This has been one bumpy summer so far! What with temperatures just breaking 100 in the sunlight I'm surprised I can keep either computer running, hahah!

Anyway, I've removed all creatures and eggs from the stream today. The immortals have taken over and many dead creatures were not being removed from the roster. Naturally, that meant taking care of the problem manually.

That said, I've imported 12 creatures from evolnemesis. Of them only 1, Mundane Distribution, died shortly after import. As always, I am still taking submissions for the stream despite the sporadic schedule. I hope you understand and I do apologize for the inconvenience. The usual rules apply.

EDIT: Added two egg bombs from KittyTikara. Thank you! The offspring will be eggs from her blog wolfling run.

To add some variety (and because the queue is empty) I added 8 creatures from my private run. They all have 'frozen' aging genes and should help prevent fast agers and immortals if they breed.

I also removed a gaggle of immortal creatures and when I did, some babies from evolnemesis' submissions hatched. Cool beans!

Also, to prevent more fast-ager breeding, I temporarily disabled breeding for Youth-stage creatures.

Excellent, thank you! As soon as I finish fixing some problems on this computer, I'll have the stream up and import your creature.

EDIT: OK! I've imported your creature, savannahs11.

I've also gone ahead and imported the creatures that were exported from the run last time, when it started to glitch out and removed persistent immortals. I will be adding more creatures from my wolfling run (that I double checked and can confirm aren't immortals) soon.

I'm sort of permanently on TwitchTV, I see it in my favorites list when it's on. Perhaps it would benefit from a linked twitter account, so people could get a notification? It can be set to send a tweet automatically when the stream turns on.

I've explained before that the schedule for the stream is pretty erratic because of the high temperatures and bad cooling-system on the computer that I use to run the stream. Please be patient.

As for your recommendation for the notifications, Twitch already automatically does this if you have a Twitch account and favorite (subscribe, whatever the verb is) to the channel. Rather than a tweet, however, it sends an email. Unfortunately, the stream (when it is running, again, I can't control the heat) is designed to run 24/7 so the notifications would probably only appear something like once a week. I do, however, post a notification in the bibbles section since the audience for the stream is pretty much all here.

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the previously recorded sessions. They're all available to view here.

Question: I'm planning on sending in some colored grendels. Now, the default C3 grendel ages much faster than the typical norn does.

Would leaving the aging of these grendels as it is be okay given that it's typical of grendels, or should I change things around so that they age the same way norns do?

The Grendels will be fine. I've edited the genomes on my side to make them age more slowly but traditional grendel aging is absolutely allowed. Basically, as long as they aren't troublesome fast agers (age to adult in a minute, super breed and die in an hour) or immortals, they're absolutely fine.

By the way, the stream is still down right now. I experimented with ways to keep my husband's computer room cool with no success. My house reached the highest temperature I've recorded in here even with both computers off so it's hard to say when it will be back. :( Whenever the heat passes, I suppose.

In cased you missed my little bibble, the DCF is back! The weather doesn't look like it's going to get quite so hot as when I had to cancel the stream, so we'll be streaming until further notice.

For now, for reasons detailed in that bibble, the stream will remain silent for reasons of avoiding copyright claims and to keep you all being annoyed to death by the game's event music. I know there is a way to edit the .cos files to prevent that music but Biodome doesn't have any music and the general consensus seems to be that DS's music is abysmall. In the meantime, I hope you all find playlists that you can enjoy while you watch. Maybe try an audiobook? :)

Today, I received 39 creatures from KittyTikara from her wolfling run. All of the creatures are very high gen, ranging rom about 280+. So far, I have imported 4.

Keep those creatures coming! I will try my best to incorporate the DCF back into my routine in the meantime. Thank you all for your support and interest!

Nutter, I'm still trying to figure whether I added those breeds or not. I should have the Flora Norns installed already, though. :)

And I've fixed the camera. :)

ETA: I've got the Golden Desert and Flora Norns installed. I can happily take Sphinx mixes, too, but they won't look the same in game. I'll install them later if they don't take up the same slot as another breed I already have. Thanks, Nutter!

ETA again: Nutter, I've got all those breeds installed. :) I'll be updating the DCF page to reflect the new changes.

ETA AGAIN: I've imported 4 creatures from KittyTikara today. Because of the return of the persistent immortal problem, I've gone ahead and cleaned the slate before importing them.

I'm sad to report that it's still getting too hot in my husband's computer room to run the stream full time, as planned.

As a result, the DCF is on another hiatus until further notice.

That said, the lousy cooling system on my husband's computer might mean we can use an alternative heating system during the winter. .-.

I'm happy to report that the weather is consistently cool enough now that I can run the stream for long periods and my life is settling down enough that I can be present for regular events.

That said, the run is open to submissions again and should begin streaming again sometime next week.

If I can, I'll do my best to add interaction like I did with the previous Random Event Run but I won't be saving those highlights and my interaction will probably come more like once a week rather than every day.

Thank you so much for your patience and understanding everyone! After some trial runs with the stream to figure out what time period is best for everyone (I'll be shooting for about 3 hours a day), I'll be posting a schedule. That process shouldn't take more than a week or so.

I hate to bring this up, but I think it might be time to retire this.

I don't think I'll be able to do a daily feature any more (except for special occasions like the CCSF, etc.) but I do have the ability to do a weekly feature. I don't know what I'll be doing with this air time yet, but point is, I think the Daily Creature Feature is over. I won't be announcing any future streaming plans until I have the capacity to honor them.

Thanks for the support on this project, everyone! I'm sorry I just don't have the time or means to keep up a daily stream anymore.
