I've noticed that the hallway is a pretty mean area to creatures. Many creatures that go in there don't seem to do well, despite CFE edits. :C

Yeah, I don't think CFE or anything else genetic will help against EE syndrome... it seems to be an intermittent bug in how the DS game engine is processing their brains, and kind of gets them stuck forever trying to do impossible actions. I'd love to figure out a cure for it...
Since enough stimulation seems to snap them out of it, I'm thinking it may be possible to make an agent that monitors the norns and breaks them out of it when it sees them stuck.

It might be worth it to try to enlist help in the Development forum if it hasn't been tried already. Give that forum a look. There's probably more information there.

The Brain in Vat supposedly lets you view a Norn's brain. I don't know if it works with DS or not though.

From what I can tell though, it looks like it's just able to run its instincts, and simulate the stimulation of neurons, but all the running seems to be done outside of game, so I can't really see what is going on with the brain of a norn while it's running in-game, for example when it is stuck with EE.
I really want to see what exactly is being stimulated in their brains when they get stuck like that, if they are trying to think of other things at all, and if the game is trying to send them disappointment or not.

Let's try to stay on topic, please.
(By the way, the Brain in a Vat works with DS on versions of windows higher than XP only if you have the remastered patch installed.)
Were there any recommendations for agents to add to the stream?

I notice that the Garden Box isn't installed and there seems to be a lack of food. Maybe some patch plants would help fix that?
Otherwise, I'd also suggest spreading some potted food-producing plants, like the Tea Time plants or the NG potted plants.

Maybe add some botanoids or techno-organic carrots to the hallway to make the Creatures lives a little bit better? The techno-carrots shouldn't ever die out, but both of them work well together. Also, I noticed that in between songs that the music from DS is still playing on the stream.

I'd actually advise against the techo-organic carrots - besides the fact that they have a tendency to overpopulate, rusted carrots have trace amounts of heavy metals, which isn't good for most creatures.
Also, the A.S.K. tendril, mushroom, and piranha agents just inject the scripts. They're actually brought into the game by the Thing of Power.

Geeze. XD
I've gone ahead and injected the Botanoids in any case. As long as I can, I'd like to avoid using the Garden Box. Things tend to get out of hand when I use it. (See also, too much food.) Of course I know I can change the settings per patch.

Etrian Odyssey Untold - Labrynth IV I believe. I'm playing the "Relaxin' with SD" playlist by SupraDarky on Youtube. Pretty good stuff.
OK. Any last-minute suggestions before I let the stream run AFK? Added a few nornchi dolls, btw.

A few bouncing balls might be good too - just the ones that come with DS. Vampess hypothesised that the key was to have enough 'interesting' things around in eyesight.

Wild Arms music! Oh man, this brings me back... such a good game. And i second the bouncy balls... I have been putting them in all my worlds, they make good toys, the norns like to chase them too.

Sadly, it hasn't. I've hit sort of a rough part of my life and stopped streaming and spending a lot of time online. The stream isn't dead, though, just hibernating.

It's back!
That said, the DCF is finally open for creature submissions and suggestions.
This time, I'd like to keep the stream somewhat 'natural', that is, not too many agents. Either way, I'm open to all of your suggestions and will consider them all.

What's the Daily Creature Feature and what's it's purpose? |

The Daily Creature Feature is an all-day livestream of Docking Station. People can send in creatures for the stream and it's intended to replace Live Nornish Action, which was a similar AFK-style livestream.
You can find more information (how to send in creatures, what breeds I have installed, etc) about the livestream here on its webpage. You can also watch the stream there.

This is the first time all the creatures have ever died out! I've put the stream back up (turns out my husband isn't good at building computers, heh.) and I've turned on the Norn, Grendel and Ettin mothers.
While I'm at it, I'm starting to run low on creatures for the stream so if you have any at all that you would like to see in the stream, please send them my way. The usual rules apply.
No fast-agers or immortals, no invincible creatures, must be bred by -you-. They can be hosted here or at The Creature Repository and I'll download them there or you can simply email them to me at kezune_twitch@hotmail.com.

Thank you KittyTikara for your creatures. I added them but the generation 1 norn you sent in died shortly after import and I didn't stick around to keep an eye on the two boys. Sadly, there are no norns in the stream.
That said, there are a LOT of grendels in the stream right now and they're all so interesting looking! Do you all think it's high time for another download pack?

Excellent. The email hasn't hit yet but when it does I'll upload them.
Quick update, I've uploaded 4 more from Nutter's lot and now there are only 8 left in reserve.

Imported 1 creature from Malkin, 4 from evolnemesis and 2 from Nutter.
Also, the weather has cooled off this weekend so I can (probably) safely run the stream through the weekend. Sorry about all the delays!
Also, I feel like I should let you all know that the stream's going to take a break from Ettins and this strain of super-violent grendels for a little while. I hope you don't mind, but it's very disheartening to upload a norn just to have it murdered 2 minutes into its life. The eggs have all been saved, though!

Yeah, I noticed those grendels being pretty mean... cool looking though they were, they were definitely killing up all the norns pretty much as fast as you could import them. They wiped out several of my first gens I saw you import after I sent you that big batch pretty fast. I think a stronger fight-or-flight response is in order for CFF too, though I'm not sure how much it would have helped them against that huge mess of vicious grendels.

Well, the grendels have died off naturally, Windows Update restarted my computer (I could swear I turned that feature off), I turned the Grendel Mother back on and the new pop limits are 20 for Norns, 5 for Ettins and 5 for Grendels.
I've also started collecting creatures for the next batch upload. I've started by collecting colorful creatures that passed the IQ test but I was wondering if there were any specific species, colors or sexes you wanted me to keep an eye out for to export. Let me know what you think!

I've just imported 4 creatures from evolemesis into the stream and refreshed all of the vanilla food sources and critters in the world. I may give in and install Garden Box in the near future to feed all these hungry mouths.

If you don't want to install the Garden Box, you might try out the super food vendor? I don't know how hardy the plants are but the colors mutate. So it'd be interesting to see what colors they mutate into over time... if they survive the Norn hoard anyway. The two flower plants in it would be a good choice. They usually spread fairly fast in my worlds.

Seeing a lot of my genetics in there I think... Lots of zebra arms and violet or blue bleeds, as well as a bit less bibbling... glad to see they are doing well, I really gotta start messing with some more interesting-looking breeds... though I gotta say I really like the grendel tails so many of them seem to be sporting too.

The populations seem to have naturally died down again. I shut off Grendels today and uploaded 3 more creatures from evolnemesis. Also added some High Bounce balls to otherwise empty parts of the Shee Ark and the Capillata.

I've added 3 more from evolnemesis after flooding the Meso and Norn Terrarium with food. Seriously flooded them with food. Grendels are still turned off to prevent mass murder.
I also added two tribbles and will gladly add more if anyone wants to send me any carnivorous, critter-eating creatures. Let me know if you send any so that I can add more seeds as well.
Also, to address the EE that seems to persist in the hallways and Workshop, I've added the PST series of toys. They move around a lot, are toys and teleport from room to room automatically so should help any issues in the future.
