Glad you like it. Seeing as they're just a bunch of random creatures spliced together, I don't think they'll be doing too well. They're probably kind of unstable, genetically, too.
I just noticed that the original world name is visible. Whoopsie, didn't consider that one. The video was hilarious, though. |

I'm kind of afraid that ettinheaded norn of mine isn't going to wake up anymore. I think he fell asleep on that spot ages ago. I just hate it when stuff like that happens, what triggers it, anyway? |

Lots of action in the stream... liking all the new creatures people are sending in... I'm feeling pretty happy about how well my guys seem to be doing too, I think this breed is a winner. I like the strategy Betty has come up with... 'rest food'... If you feel tired, go to the nearest pile of food and curl up on it so you can eat right away when you wake up... you'll notice her telling the other norns to do it too... I guess that's one way to save time for more fun pursuits.

Zweitausend, I'm not really sure. I think it's a problem where energy or tiredness doesn't go down properly. I'll give him a slap and see if that helps.

Thanks for saving the little guy, but isn't this going to happen again at some point?
It's always so sad when someone falls asleep with a big smile on their face, only to never wake up by themself anymore. Creatures with the head of a different species generally seem to be unstable, from what I've seen in my own games so far. |

Zweitausend, no problem but yes, it is. I just wanted to find out what was causing it for you so I hope that at least helps.
It is a little sad, but there are also ways of preventing it from happening using the Genetics Kit. I guess the best consolation is that his organs are all still healthy and he seems happy. Maybe he's dreaming.

Kezune, how do you get the camera to cycle through the norns one-by-one? Is that an agent, or some software you've got installed? |

I'm obviously not kezune, but I might have the answer regardless.
Amaikokonut released a .cos that's called autotab. It automatically switches the active creature after a specific amount of time you can set yourself.
It says it's experimental, but I never had any problems with it. |

so i'm trying to repopulate my species using the three eggs i had left over once the clones of nip and nap failed horribly. so far i've managed to get three useless male, one female who died shortly after birth... it's not going well surfice to say. i've got copies of them all exported as children, so if they go extinct maybe i'll send them over to you and see if the species cn be saved still |

I'm happy to take in any creatures that aren't immortal or invincible (or fast agers *shudder*). Remember, I'm happy to use the stream world as a test bed.
Which reminds me, I'm going to be taking a look at a breed that KittyTikara has been working on sometime this week (probably tomorrow) so the stream will have its first predictable interruption to its normal program.

for fast agers i reccomend not splicing two male grendles into a female one then, i've noticed they only tend to live around thirty minutes. planning on doing an expariment with them to see if adding norn or ettin dDNA will increase the lifespan once i can get ahold of a female-prefering seasonal gender bias. |

I've actually gone ahead and edited the life genes of all of the genomes I have installed in my game so that mutations like that can't occur in the first place. Also, there's no splicing in the stream, but I'm not about to check every creature that makes it into the game. XD

These guys on the stream, are they KittyTikara's new norns? They are cute... looks like little Albert has 'eat elevator' syndrome though, poor guy.
Edit; Hmm, that's odd too, they keep suggesting to each other to push bug when they say they are crowded.

No, this is part of a trade project I'm doing with Ghost_Norn. Sorry about that, but sometimes I like to play the game, too.
KittyTikara's norns are probably coming tomorrow.

Right as I pop in to watch that, you go back to the normal stream. ._. Ah well.
On a different note, I might whip up a few norns/grendels for the stream if I can get my Creatures urge back.

So i've got to ask then. do you ever run into an overpopulaition problem? Granted you obviously play in a very heavily modded world, but i've had species die out due to having too many members clogging up the populaition limit and preventing them from laying/hatching eggs. what about you? |
 Air Guitarist

Overpopulation? I did briefly but it's rare that I go over 30 eggs in the world. The great thing is that you can actually set a population limit to keep the numbers from soaring too high. As far as that pertains to eggs, well. The eggs are counted differently so they should never affect your world's survivability. What you might want to do is edit the .cos file that prevents creatures from disappearing after death until panned over with the camera. That brought an abrupt end to many of my early wolfling runs.
As for populations dying out, I haven't had that problem with the stream. I like to keep a separate world where I can breed creatures for the stream should numbers get too low. People have always sent in creatures as well and I was also given permission to use Creatures Link creatures for this project. On top of that, I've edited the Grendel and Ettin mothers so I should always have at least 12 creatures at all times. With the addition of the Norn Mother that I just made, my numbers should never dip below 16. The Norn Mother version I made available on the site works the same as the vanilla Grendel and Ettin mothers and only ensure that there are at least 2 norns in the world at a time.

I had the stream up a little while ago, maximized because I wasn't really doing anything else, and you know how when your cursor is over video it turns into a little hand? Well, when one of the norns on the stream did something really cute, (I forget now...) I found myself for a second trying to move the little mouse hand as if I could pet them with it... lol...
I'll try putting a new batch of norns up soon, probably this weekend when I get around to doing some more tweaks to my enhanced genome.

i've kinda fallen out of the game recently, but i've been coppying and saving every egg i hatch to send over to you sometime. some of them have a few problems, one or two endlessly sleep while annother died shortly after birth, but doi you think it would be possible to copy and send me any children they migth have once i send them over to you? Need some fresh dDNA in my world, mainly females. |

I generally don't do that because of the 'afk' nature of the stream, unfortunately. :C
Every once in a while, though, I take a random sample of the population to upload. I haven't done that in a while so I'll be glad to start accumulating creatures again on Monday when the stream starts again.
This break has been very refreshing.

ahhh okay, i ws wondering why the thread was a little inactive it at least coencides with my own inactivity from the game.
and ahh well was worth a shot. i'll send 'em over your way nonetheless when i've managed to hatch a few more, if you happen to run into any that look like their decendents after that, then taking a moment to back them up and send them to me would be nice, though not neccicary. |

Sent up some new creatures for the stream... and I just had to go 'awwww...' at the little ettin sitting there by the computer, she really seems to love that thing.
EDIT: ahh, i see... she wanted to eat it... it must be an Apple...

Nice, saw that... yeah about the eat elevator thing, it seems to have nothing to do with scripts, but in the actual compiled DS engine itself... something about how it processes the brain's decision and/or attention lobes. I doubt it's fixable with just CAOS, since it happens even when no scripts are running on the creature. It's probably something as silly as a single variable switched or a number that is off by 1.., Seems it's just something creatures in DS have to deal with. Maybe someone could figure out a way to look for it and make an agent that stims a creature to break them out of it when they get stuck.
Hmm, seems like my little guys slightly prefer each other's company over that of other norns... they seem to be sticking pretty close to each other... maybe they notice the differences in behavior, or just like each other because they went through the IQ test together.
That black gargoyle looking norn, Beautiful Journey seems to be quite popular with everyone. All the norns around seem to love it.
EDIT: Okay, I thought the guys with no arms were bad but that baby walking around with no legs is creepy...

you think that's weird? I had norns walking around in my old docking staition world with heads that floated two feet above their neck.
i think they had some grendle DNA in them or something that i couldn't see due to not having creautres 3 at the time. |

Sorry about yesterday! The game kept crashing so I guess it was time to retire that world. All of the creatures have been backed up and will be reintroduced to the new world today.
If you have any suggestions for agents to use, this is the perfect time to make those suggestions. I'll be using the usual loadout.
As for metarooms, those would be good to suggest, too. I got some RAM for my birthday so my PC actually runs at a good level to stream footage AND run a big C3/DS world.
Finally, the creatures will, unfortunately, be put through the IQ tests again. I strongly believe that if they can do it once, they can do it again. They'll be introduced in pairs of the same species and the grendel and ettin mothers will be disabled during this time.

Is it wrong that I'm watching the stream mostly to listen to the music?
On a different note, I'd suggest that you'd replace the Torii with something else; it seems that it doesn't properly stim creatures and/or works way too fast, and the result is that creatures keep pushing it until they fall asleep (often resulting in EES if they fall asleep in the corridor). Unfortunately, I can't think of a better door to replace it with.

Forgot about the interporters; I've had good success with them in the past (although I'm fairly certain they don't stim creatures right).
Also, the swirly symbol next to the "on" button indicates that it's still classified as a "portal." If you click on that symbol, you can change it to a proper door.

Hmm looks like some rampant eat elevator going around in the hallways...
EDIT: Since stimulating the norns seems to break them out of it, I'm thinking there must be a way to program an agent that will monitor them and snap them out of it if they are showing symptoms... Does anyone know of any tools I can use to monitor what is going on in their brains while they are in the game? I'd really love to figure out a good fix for it.
