Greyhounds were originally bred as hunting dogs in Egypt and those regions. They were popularized and refined in England. Whippets were bred from small greyhounds and similar-sized skinny dogs and were considered the "poor man's racehorse". It was with whippets that dog racing became popular. Yes, I'm the forum ...
