That would be an interesting plot twist, actually. |

It is a creature, though.

Here's an interesting thought: we see plenty of biotech in C3/DS, but none on Albia... even important tech like the splicer is purely inorganic. So did the Banshee return for a while after the Shee left?

well considering that they can warp around from what we've seen, I don't see why they couldn't!
Another thing that might be worth thinking about is that biological technology is much more likely to rot away if it's left abandoned, whereas plastics and metals would stick around a lot longer without fuel! They can just be turned on and off, but presumably animal based things would probably die. c:

I thought I saw weird markings on C3's incubator, but it might just be my imagination. |

I've always seen the Shee as being really long-lived, so I guess it would make sense that they would Ragnarok Proof things to the nth degree... If you expect to live a thousand years, that's like 80 times the lifespan of a typical refrigerator.
They might have put more Ragnarok Proofing into inorganic tech because it wasn't something they were very interested in developing. Kind of like how we don't build mobile phones to last fifty years: there's no point when the next model will probably come out within twelve months. That might explain why Norns have such short lifespans, too.

Well, as far as the Norns go, a subject with a short lifespan and a good capacity for breeding just makes sense from a scientific point of view for anyone working with genetics and trying to observe natural selection and evolution of characteristics in a population.
It's why cutting-edge geneticists study mostly fruit flies and E. Coli. More generations in a shorter time (and also relatively simple and well-understood genetics, which Norns definitely have too). It only makes sense that if one were to create a creature to study, especially if you want to study the effects of tinkering with genes or the effects on populations from various environments, that you would want them to have these characteristics.

@Puddini after going to have a look, you're right that there's something on the c3 incubator! it's ambiguous whether it's actual writing or just scratches or tally marks, but you never know... It doesn't look like the same kind of looping writing but it still could be:

what do you think? c:

Personally I was always a bit creeped out by that weird thing on top of the DS elevators... I'm thinking it might be a baby banshee... It might even be the thing in the capillata that is putting creatures in trances and sending the hypnotic suggestions to eat things like elevators and doors (maybe that's its plan to escape from its bubble... get some creature to eat the elevator it's stuck to...)
