Interview & demo is good stuff. Looks like the creature editor is only available once unlocked.
It seems there are a few new actions for the creatures too...never had norns kicking before. I would like to see them talking and interacting a bit, but I guess they haven't got that far yet.
I guess the stages could be interpreted as metarooms, and if so he said there would be five at launch.
Still no word on if CAOS has made it through, but genetics were mentioned, at least for the visual traits so that is hopeful.
The scale of the world is different to how I expected it...you seem to get a lot closer in. This is a good thing.

Was the 'Really?' meant for me? In that case, yes. Norns would have a lot of fun torturing the little things, picking them up and kicking them repeatedly before (usually) finally eating them. |

I'm guessing no CAOS/third party addons or third party breeds, but with Norn adoptions and the official addons in return for coins(/money).

Hey you never know, I'm thinking we can make agents but it will be pretty hard and enw compared to what we are used to, we already know there is an injector of sorts, so why not make agents? we probably wont be able to make breeds ourselves, but we can most likely save breeds ingame and export them like creature files..
And if I'm wrong, lets just hope they put a lot up for download, and cheaply.

There's a fine line between just having different feelings about the game and not liking it, and condemning it to heck because it doesn't meet their personal criteria of what makes Creatures Creatures.
I just thought our community would be above such pettiness. :/
Edit: This post was supposed to be at the end of the previous page, I totally didn't read the other comments, so don't be confused.

That's true.. I've been having reaaally mixed feelings about this, and I"m not sure if I'm gonna like it or not, but I do know I sure as heck am gonna play it because it does rally look like a good game. All I'm saying is that I kind of feel that it's not creatures anymore and that's what I think everyon eis upset about...

Yeah, I don't think "Creatures 4" was the best title really; the name implies quite a lot. They could've just called it "Norns" or something like that.

I wanted a sciency Creatures 4 too, but 4 identical games in a row hardly ever turns out well. They shouldn't have named it "Creatures 4" I think, "Creatures: The New Generation" or something would have been a lot more fitting.
To me it still feels like Creatures... Creatures wasn't just genes and brains and chemicals and CAOS to me, it was also cute norns that got in trouble and refused to eat and did cute silly things. And they got that part right.
They are including the remastered versions of C1 to C3 with the collector's edition, so that's a really good thing for the CC.

We should probably combine the two threads now to stop any general discussion on the game getting split.

I stand by my opinion, despite others' objections and personal attacks. Might be a great game on it's own, and I'll probably buy it, but it's not Creatures. So far it's just a vaguely similar spin-off.
I find people's objections to divergent opinions silly. "They don't owe us anything", and, "people shouldn't be upset just because it doesn't meet their personal opinion" blah, blah, blah. I would argue there are objective reasons to hold negative opinions about how this game compares to the series, but even if it were a matter of mere opinion, the creatures community should be "above" trying to combat them.
It's like people are getting personally offended just because someone doesn't like the game. What's it to you?
If I don't think it meets my personal criteria of what makes Creatures, Creatures, deal with it, because quite frankly it's my prerogative. And I think it's "petty" of the community to not accept that.
To quote Don: "Don't forget that everyone is talking about how they actually feel about all the news, so there's no need to judge or criticise anyone else's opinions; all views are valid"
I'll concede on only one aspect. We haven't seen everything yet. Until such a time as I can play the game myself, my opinion will remain pliable, but things aren't looking good.
