I accidentally posted this in the General Forum. >_< Oops! Mods, can you move this to Strangeo, please?

I'm going to a movie later this week, and my dad says I can choose. Since my brother is a fan of animated movies (as am I), I am considering going to Kung Fu Panda and Wall-E.

I've read good reviews about both of them, and I find that I cannot choose. >_> Which do you think I should see this coming weekend?

WALL-E!

Wall - E. Kung Fu Panda looks far too pointless and.. immature. Its acting voices are good actors and all, but then when I saw their "humor" - It was worse than watching the humor on "Meet the Spartans."

WALL-E! It was absolutely fantastic in every way, more than I can say for Kung-Fu Panda.

Ahah, my father just today suggested Wall-E. ;)

I guess that's what I'll see! :D

I've seen neither but I'd say Kung Fu Panda just because it has a panda voiced by Black Jack who does kung fu, what's not to like? Although I Wall-E looks a better film.

i'm waiting for disney to bring back their hand-animated movies...

not holding my breath though, since they announced that they gave up on that dept. I'm not a huge fan of pixar.

I love Pixar movies, and Wall-E seems cool to watch.. But one thing I'm really disappointed in is that Beverly Hills Chihuahua movie thing.. It is an emberassment to any chihuahua owner or lover.

Wall-E, was, once again, genius. It's kind of like a love story, in some ways, and in other ways like an adventure/scifi story. To any Disney Pixar fan, I would recommend this movie to be seen.

For the hand animated movies, I have to say that some of Disney's finest work are the ones they made before they started messing around with computers more. It's a real shame they gave up on hand animating.

I think that Rapunzel (due out next year) may be stepping back to capturing some of the hand-drawn feel of the classics.

I'm more interested in the new Get Smart movie than in Wall-E or Kung Fu Panda, though.

I really want to see Get Smart. I have the complete original TV series in a box set. :D

The trouble is that it's PG13, so I'm not sure if it's exactly appropriate for kids under that age. >_> If I am to go, my four-years-younger brother will probably want to go with me. He also likes Get Smart, so he wants to see it, and now I'm stuck again. xD I don't think it'll be as good as the original show, though.

*has recently been to Two Dollar Theatre* Who here has seen the Speed Racer movie? :) I really enjoyed it; it was full of humor, action, and youth. It was insanely good for something which gave me very low expectations before seeing it. ;)

. . . How old are you?

When I was that young, nothing stopped me. Then again, I've got awesomely open-minded parents, but.. sheesh. You've gotta go out there and experience the real world buddy! :P

Twelve. :P *le sigh* And I have two months to go before I'm of age.

It's not that I haven't been to PG13 rated movies before; it's that I don't really want to expose my brother to things he doesn't have to see/hear yet... he still gets scared of monsters in the closet and stuff like that. o__o I don't think Get Smart is that kind of movie, but I'm cautious nonetheless. My whole family is. >_>'

Heh, my brother is reading this in the background and is giving me an evil look. xD

I wound up seeing wall-e last night. I would rather have watched Get Smart but it wasn't playing at the theatre and we had free tickets to waste.

it was alright. i was more entertained by all the kids and parents in the theatre (i guess one would assume that they would go watch a kids' movie). They all kept narrating everything that was happening. I wish i had popcorn to throw at them.

angel, you and I.. You and I. :P

I do admit, though - That "Horton hears a Who!" was fun to watch. There were lots of kids, sure - But the graphics were amazing. I could never imagine myself making SO MUCH HAIR on ONE character! . . Plus it had a really good message it told.

heheh i'm not so sure i love the messages in Wall-e. I thought it was a liiiiiiiittle too political. And while i agree with the whole green save the earth message, i think it can be done more subtly.

Then again, I hear that Happy Feet was Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth just with penguins and singing (i never saw that one).

Anyway i thought the graphics in Wall-e were pretty amazing. Plot-wise, I'm not thrilled - some things were extremely complicated and others were just incredibly too simple. Oversimplification upsets me, even in a kid movie. I think too much thought went into graphics and not enough into plot.

Grah, I guess I'm just waaay too cautious, but that's just me being me. xD

We have the whole original Get Smart, so I'm familiar with it. The TV series was incredibly funny, which adds all the more reason for me to at least look into seeing the new movie. My brother enjoyed it as well.

And to Horton Hears a Who! --I want to see that sometime, but I don't think it's at the two dollar theatre yet. My friends saw it and LOVED it; they claim that it was a very entertaining. And I believe you on the graphics, Karias; I can't imagine how long it took for them to animate that Who. o__o

I think we've strayed off of the original subject... so I'm changing the title of this to "New Movies"

Well - On thought of new movies, I'm off to see HellBoy 2 and Wanted this next week. Anyone have any feedback, whoever has seen them?

Hellboy, I'm no fan of - But the graphics and designs done in it just blew me away when I saw the trailers.. Also, they were done by the same person who did Pan's Labrynth - Which was a shocking movie, but had excellent designs and "art" value to it.

my boyfriend wanted to drag me into Hellboy 2... but I never saw Hellboy 1 so it'd be weird watching a sequel. Plus he got to choose the last two movies i was forced to watch so to retaliate I made him wa

As for Pan's Labyrinth, I hated it with a passion. Pretty graphics... uhh sure, especially pretty when the guy had to sew his face together. It was beyond too gruesome for my liking and I wasn't able to appreciate any of it. I had a hard time seeing the art beyond the gore.

I felt the same way, though. There were plenty of gruesome parts, and a lot of it was a little too "realistic" as in the horrors of life, but.. The art of her sci-fi world and the Fawn and all were interesting.

I always seem so behind when it comes to new films, though I'm counting the days until Dark Knight is released over here. Villains were always the best bits of the batman films, if they'd focused on Scarecrow a little more in the promotion for Batman Begins I'd have seen it in the cinema the first day it was out rather than discovering how brilliant it was hunched at the tiny portable telly with a pirate DVD.

Aaah Dark Knight. If only it was showing in the same theatre that Hellboy and Wanted - I'd watch it. I'm no fan of Batman, but when Batman Begins came out - I was blown away. The messages, the actor, all of it - I looved it. And Dark Knight really does look promising. Oh, and the music.. Man does Hans Zimmer and James Newton do a good job on music!

Kung Fu Panda doesn't look all that bad; when it comes to the Two Dollar Theatre I'm so going there. :3 How was it?
