Earl is a TWB Norn from my survival Wolfling Run. He caught my eye when I noticed him eating a lot of bugs after hatching, upon closer inspection he appeared to have an eating disorder and I thought that he would die quickly from heart disease. Luckily he grew out of it and managed to lose a lot of weight.

He is part of a small group of creatures who have adapted to living in the desert ruins. Like them, he has lost the gene that caps his glycogen storage and has a faulty receptor which makes him always cold.

He is obsessed with the Norn Home.

It means he can store more glucose, so if he eats lots of starchy food in one go he won't get starch hunger again for longer than a regular creature would. Beyond that I don't know, there is no diabetes mechanism, but he seems to function fine now.

What are the effects of losing the glycogen cap?
