Frost Norns C3DS Arnout | 12/24/2013 | 7 |
type | Genetics Only | author | Arnout | updated | 12/24/2013 | Merry Christmas in advance, folks! Thought I'd simply boot this thing up and start my genetics kit to make you lot a breed that fits this season.
The Frost Norns came to my mind when I was thinking of making something out of Magma Norns. I have edited their pigment bleed genes as well as creating new ones to intensify their colors. I've also switched all hotness and coldness genes. This basically makes them the exact opposite of the Magma Norns. Last but not least have I edited some of their stimuli; a lot of creatures tend to slap or approach each other when they are bored or crowded. I have removed the boredom and crowdedness reductions in these stimuli, making the Frost Norns slightly more friendly than other Norns and less likely to 'freeze on each other'.
Just remember that they are very vulnerable to illness, just like their Magma counterparts. I would recommend keeping them in bacteria-free environments, like Docking Station's Norn Meso.
The zip file contains a starter pair capable of breeding, as well as their genetics. While you're at it, may I also recommend downloading Moe's Xmas Pack? It comes with a handy snowglobe to keep your creatures cool. |

Nice colours you put on the Norns.

Glad to see some gratitude for the Frost Norns here and there! There might be more breeds coming; when I've gambled a bit with my ideas, that is.

Wow, what a nice surprise! Welcome back, Arnout.

They probably live the best in the north pole if you remove the fruits and replace it with something else.

Thank you very much.
What I forgot to mention though, is that I added an emitter that greatly increases their up drive whenever they are underwater. This mostly prevents them from drowning in aquatic area's like the C3 aquarium or the Aquatic Norngarden. (As those have lifts to navigate in and out of the water.) Watch out though; I have tested this gene on bondi norns as well, those would just fall asleep in the water and still drown. So I can not guarantee that they aren't drowning there.
Oh, and they are based on the CFE magma genome.

I love their icy colours. Thanks for sharing these Arnout, and a merry Christmas to you!

Strange, I'm also working on a snowy-type breed. Glad to see a few more of them around though. There really is a lack of cold-loving Creatures.
